To anyone else taking the S.A.T soon

The ACT and SAT are super super important. I think it's stupid that the next 2-4 years are completely decided upon your results. Then even after college those test scores will come back because companies care what school you went too.

intelligence is a pretty subjective topic. but id have to disagree with

anyone who believes that grades have absolutely no correlation to a

person's intelligence. standardized tests are pretty good indicators

only if everybody has an equal amount of preparation. of course there will be a small handful of outliers, but for the most part im sure statistics would show

that grades and intelligence have at least some small amount of positive

correlation

I just looked an an example SAT.

You should be able to pass with flying colours. Shit's so damn easy.

Exactly this. It's the easiest way to evaluate students while ensuring taht everyone has a fair chance. It sucks, but it's true.

However, what Andy_H said certainly is not true. This test is important, but it's not everything. Sure, everyone has their fair shot at the SAT, but some people are better test-takers than others. Plus, intelligence does not define work ethic. That's why colleges use the SAT as one of MANY tools for deciding upon who they accept. Just because you didn't score a 45893958 on the SAT doesn't mean you can't get into a great school.

It's not bad at all, actually it's pretty easy. The only people who complain about it are the ones who do poorly on it
