I want to know what your times are for a 40yard/meter or 100m. Football players, hockey players, sprinters ect.

Do you have any tips or advice for me?

40m sprint in 4.6 seconds, with sweatpants, non-running shoes.

16 years old.derp.

if your gonna make this thread dont make excuses. put on some shorts and running shoes and get a real time. that said, when i ran track 2 years ago i ran a 24.5 200m. that was sophomore year, ive been injured since then, but should be in full health for spring track this year (fingers crossed)

Yeah i know that, i just did one sprint to finish my workout at the gym, wasn't plannin to go all out.

good luck.

Lmao you're saying a few scoops of pre-workout supplement make you run just a bit slower than NFL players and prospects? Doubt it.

When I was 15 I ran an 11.9.

Its so-so, but just make sure that you are comfortable with your start. Its all about getting out of the blocks clean and getting ahead early on.

Make sure to stay low coming out of the blocks too, that helps a lot with aerodynamics and such.

Just make sure to PRACTICE. Getting out of the blocks in a sprint can either make you incredible, or just like everyone else.

Oh an I mean an 11.9 in the 100m. I was injured last season with a torn hip flexor, but hopefully I'll be back for spring track this year for the 100m and 200m

squats squats squats squats squats squats squats squats squats squats squats

Also, build up your core and learn how to actually run (I'm just assuming you don't based on your age). Heel up, toe up, knee up. Cycle that shit through.

Aerodynamics?!? People don't run fast enough for that to be a big deal. I'm not saying you don't want to start somewhat low to maximize power transfer when you are accelerating but a comment like "aerodynamics" shows you should not be giving advice.
Oh and to the op, you should specify whether or not it is timed by hand or laser. It makes a pretty big difference. Especially for things like the 40, where if you look at some nfl 40 times you would think they could be olympic sprinters (they couldn't).

i am pretty sure that nfl guys could shatter sprint records, nba stars could shatter high/broad jumping records.

i read an article some time ago how michael jordan couldve redefined high jumping if he went there and trained specifically for it a few years.

ask yourself: how much money can you make with track? really not much (forget usain bolt, the top 5 make money in every major discipline, but looking at the top 100 you see where the moneys at). but 2,000 something guys in the nfl make 300 k per year AT LEAST. pretty easy decision where to go, so you only end up in track (provocative formulated) if your too bad for another sport where the real money is made (or too cocky to perform in a team sport).

BOTTOM LINE: personal opinion: chris johnson/jacoby ford/primetime would (have been) be world-class 100/60 m sprinters with a little training. michael jordan and other nba stars wouldve made high jumping their bitch as well.

this kid in another bogus claim thread..great

No way. I know Chris Johnson couldht beat a single sprinter. He is fast but only cause he can take hits. U would be suprised i think the fastest nfl running back in the nfl can only run a 4.4 or 4.3, 40 that puts them somewhere in the 10 11 sec range for 100 sprinting. Good luck winning any gold medles with that type of time.

Yeah.....except not at all. I'm sorry but that's a complete crock of shit. I don't think you understand how elite these people are that have world records. MJ probably would have been a dirty high jumper but there is no way he would have "redefined it." The world record is 8 ft 0.46 in. Do you understand how much of a fucking mutant Javier Sotomayor was? The fact that it was set in 1993 and hasn't been even touched since should tell you enough.

And NFL guys would get burned by elite sprinters. No competition. They may be quick, but I don't think you realize how fucking fast a sub 10 second 100 is. Maybe a FEW guys have what it takes, but then again you can say the same for track athletes. Usain Bolt would fucking dominate at soccer or basketball with his speed and build. No one would be able to mark him because he's just too goddamn fast and strong.

No offense, but you clearly don't know too much about track.

i dont know much about track yes, but comon, money makes the world go round. a world-class athlete with ANY talent of catching a football or handling a bball will end up making millions in the nfl/nba.

track athletes (excluding the top 10 or so) dont make shit.

yeah, i know you looked that up and stuff.

i said with a few years of additional training and look up this site:

http://speedendurance.com/2008/08/22/usain-bolt-100m-10-meter-splits-and-speed-endurance/

forget the reaction time (since nfl players are measured when they start, there is no reaction time). but add the 0-10 m split time, the 10-20 split time, the 20-30 split time and roughly about the half of the 30-40 split time (i know its about 36,XX m, but hes getting faster, so i say the half of that is legit).

the result is a 4,22 40-yd-dash. pretty much around the top-times on every nfl combine. SO jacoby ford, deion sanders in his prime and i bet also randy moss in his prime could keep up with fucking USAIN BOLT for the first third. i know they couldnt keep the speed all the way, but just because they didnt train for anything over that distance. with additional sprint training, alot of NFL WRs and CBs could easily qualify for olympic finals (dont forget that usain dominates the sport currently and that you dont need to run a 9,6 every heat).

i don't get why everyones having a hard time believing his time. It's a legit highschool 40 yd. dash time.

kid on my football team runs a 4.4 with laser

i run a 4.7 i'm 210 pounds

its not my thesis. i read it on a sports newspaper. a short research showed me that MJ could do a vertical jump (without sprinting) of 48 inches. that is around 1,21 meters. high jump WR is 2,45 meters.

so he clears half of the WR height with his FEET (not his body leaning over) from a standing position.

MJ is 6'6" (ok, sotomayor is 1,93), around 1,98 m. adding that to his standing high jump his top of the head would be 74 cm over the bar (without even sprinting).

i know, all this calculations dont mean shit, but to say that he HAD NO CHANCE of clearing 2,45 at his prime is a little unimaginative.

he doesnt, thats my point. he is talking about how he wants to play soccer for a year now. a club will sooner or later pick him up to sell tickets/jerseys if he is serious, but if he was talentend he wouldnt have become a sprinter in the first place.

i dont say track doesnt need talent, but its not a finesse thing as soccer or most team sports are.

I don't even see why you are talking about the NFL. As a country we only hold 5 world records. Nobody else in the world gives a fuck about the NFL. American football is a fucking joke. Nearly all of the the world's record holders are from different parts of the world. Assuming that if someone is an amazing athlete their destined to play football is just a bad argument.

And by the way, using 40m times is a horrible way of looking at this. They would never be able to hold that pace for a 200m or accelerate enough from there on a 100m. You're argument is based a lot on assumptions. You're assuming that because they have raw talent, that they could master the technique. Sprinting takes a FUCKLOAD of technique and body control, and don't even get me started on technical events like high jump, long jump, pole vault, etc. I've seen people that could be fucking RETARDLY good at an event because of they're raw ability and body type get eaten up by someone with less athleticism and more technique. NFL players would get eaten alive in the Olympics, hands down.

It's not the time so much..its the kid thats posting it, all he ever does on here is spew shit out of his ass faster than an 90 year old on laxatives

here is his picture in case you missed it

Alright thanks everyone for your input.

Oh hey ski the east i guess your other account got banned mysteriously? ahahah stupid 12 year old

i ran a 4.8 this year its just the fact of sweats and non running shoes. 4.6 is a solid time for a 16 year old. and to claim it in sweats and wrong shoes is a little concerning

The shoes were gym shoes but not your typical running shoes, they weren't like nike sb's or anything.

If people think that the N.O Xplode didn't do shit for me they are wrong. That drink is pretty amazing and it works for me. Fast muscle reflex's and stronger pumps, that's what i like.

Fucking Ns hate these days.

hahaha this kid again. he's a great runner and there was also that thread about the 750lb leg press bet that he never followed up on

why the fuck would i make a video of my self weight lifting. do you have any idea how gay that would look? like i said i don't care if people dont believe me. and...i have it up to 1000 now hahaah suckers.
