To all Mac fans...

anyone who trys to stay up to date with their computer products is a moron.

get a computer. use it for 4 years. When it stops doing what you need look around and get a new one. Then tune out for another 4 years.

same goes for cameras.
 
or even longer.
I've had my mbp for 3 years now and plan on using it for another 3-4. I do a lot of work with both video and photos and I have never felt that I've needed one that runs faster.
Is it really worth spending over a thousand to get a little bit of a performance boost?
 
I'm saying that it's fucking awesome. yeah they're so expensive, but in a couple years it'll go down and the size will go up.
 
Macs are super nice, I just find them over priced and late on new technology. I got an HP Envy 15 about 3-4 months ago. It has i7 processor, 500gb hard drive, windows 7, 8gb of ram, and a high graphics card for just about 1700. I was SO close to getting a Mac but this was more bang for my buck.

w/e, i love how pc's are half the price of macs for the same hardware. just put some antivirus on your pc and never look at macs again.
 
thats still hundreds less than a MBP.there are lots of laptops with i7 and shit for about a grand. A tad cheaper than MBP...
 
Agreed. My PC is going on 4 years old and I'm fairly concerned for the hard drive. Not sure if I want to get a new system or not yet, but it would be annoying to purchase a new hard drive, and more RAM, and better ports. I won't need my computer for anything other than word processing and media next year, so I might consider a Mac for the first time. I'm sick of Windows, but the price is the decision maker.

YES. too bad alienwares are reallly overpriced for a pc. still better deals than macs though.
 
yes overpriced i just checked it out. supposed to be a gaming laptop but the graph card should be way better for the price.
 
i was a window's OS owner (HP) for quite some time. got very familiar with anti-virus programs and such. then switched to a mack and have no use for any anti virus. its nice. that is the sole reason i buy macs now.
 
i havent found any. havent gotten any. havent changed anything i used to do on windows. everything is the same. no viruses here :)
 
oh, you should check your system registry...i bet you will find a file calle VIRUS.vir

seriously, where did you "look" for a virus. how do you know there no spyware on your mac?
 
i cleaned the registry a lot. and i dont know, maybe there is a virus but i dont have some faggot windows crap telling me every 3 seconds about it. it doesnt cripple my system or shut things down. its running stable. my windows comp crashed all the fuckin time. just saying, its idiot friendly - for me :)

i also think they could have included more ports, and a HDMI port.

Also, macs arent upgradable once you buy them, so what happens when USB 3.0 comes out?

thats like paying too much for a mac, except you dont even get osx. you just get an overpriced pc. at least you get something different out of a mac.
 
if by different, you mean slower and more expensive than even that overpriced alienware, than yes.

im not trying to get into a which is better argument here. they each have their merits.

but paying a ton for an alienware makes no sense regardless.
