yeah sorry, i over reacted, neither have titles that really explain what they're about and one isn't even on the front page anymore
Merry Christmas though, I feel your pain.

Man I fucking hate this happy holidays chickenshit bullshit! It's fucking merry christmas. All this politically correct fuckass whoretits that's being shoved in our faces these days. I can't deal with it. If I wanna say merry christmas, and some shit-fuck gets offended because they don't celebrate christmas, then they're just ass-holes. I'm wishing good things upon somebody, and they get offended by my kindness (not just me, anybody who wishes it). What the fuck is their god damn deal?!? If somebody wished me happy hanukkah or passover or ramadan or any holiday of any faith for that matter, I don't get offended, but I am thankful for their kind wishes. The same should be said for the other way.

Happy Chanukah bitcchhhhh. But seriously, merry Christmas from a jew.

So if you only ever was told Happy Hanukkah for the rest of your life, and never was told Merry Christmas, FOREVER....it wouldn't bother you? At all? I mean you sound like someone who doesn't like other peoples beliefs pushed on to you....but yet by saying Merry Christmas you are pushing your beliefs on to someone else. Seems a bit hypocritical.

No, not at all. I don't mind other people's belief's. I agree, having them pushed on me isn't appreciated, but I don't believe in pushing mine on others either. I don't consider "merry christmas" pushing beliefs on anybody. I think that by somebody saying merry christmas, or somebody saying happy hanukkah, or anything for that matter is perfectly acceptable. I would never be offended if somebody said happy hanukkah to me at all, because to me, it means that they are wishing me the best of times during their holiday - a sign that they think everybody should not necessarily celebrate, but enjoy themselves over said holiday. I think it's the same thing going the other way around. If I were to wish somebody a merry christmas, I'm not saying "go celebrate christmas", but I'm saying that in my eyes, christmas is a time of celebration, and that they should be allowed to enjoy it as much as any other person - whether they chose to or not is completely up to them.
In no way am I trying to be hypocritical. I just think that when I go up to somebody and say merry christmas (or happy hanukkah, or whatever holiday in whatever religion it may be), people shouldn't get offended, as all I'm doing is wishing them a happy time. It goes both ways also of course.

You're right, they shouldn't get offended. However, saying Merry Christmas isn't the same as saying Happy Holidays. It has religious connotations that you can pretend to ignore but you can't ultimately avoid. The reason you can't avoid them is because not everyone looks at the world the same way as you and share similar beliefs. That's why people say Happy Holiday's. To me it isn't a PC kind of thing, it is just out of mutual respect for someone else

No you aren't saying "Go Celebrate Christmas" when you say Merry Christmas to someone and you do have a good point saying they are wishing you the best time during their holiday, but that is just an opinion that isn't shared by everyone and it really takes no effort to say Happy Holidays to someone. Even if you don't feel that way it is pretty dumb to get upset over the fact that people don't tell you to have a good holiday season in your specific socially accepted way.

Merry Christmas!

btw, 90% of they his nation celebrates Christmas whether they hold the religious beliefs behind it or not. i also hate happy holidays. it just sounds stupid coming from someone's mouth

Political correctness at its finest. The members of society have been so pampered that you can always find at least one small group of people that will be offended by something. By always playing it safe and using happy holidays we are basically showing these people that they are too weak to stand up for themselves and that all their needs should be catered too.
I'm jewish and if someone wishes me a merry christmas I just say thanks but actually I'm jewish haha and they say oh sorry happy chanukah! And that's it... But I guess that would be asking too much from some people.

im jewish, i generally wish people a merry christmas, because i realize that like %90 of the population celebrates christmas. political correctness is fucking gay anyways.
