Tips With Scratches

took some pics last night, it was pitch black out and i bent down to get something out of my cam bag, gust of wind picked up and knocked over tripod (on a bit of a slope)...my 50mm 1.4 was on at the time and it's my baby, the cam fell into some gravel face first and i now have some minor scratches on the lens.

i've heard of a 'toothpaste tip' method but is there anything you guys recommend? there arent any big gashes, just a couple minor scratches on the outer edge of the glass.

Is this serious? You are blaming the wind, for knocking over your tripod? You didn't at least have a UV on lens?

And let me guess, this is the set up your mommy and daddy bought you, what a month ago?

why on earth did you not have a uv filter on the end. thats EXACTLY why you should do that.

haha that's what i was getting out of my bag...

and its an older tripod, not the greatest, like alluminum alloy so the legs aren't too heavy....thanks anyway boys.

yeah. not much you can do once its scratched. buy more uv filters, they are always cheaper than new lenses...
