So, ive been trying to tuck my legs up more with spins and it's been wrecking me. what progression steps have you guys taken in order to get those lofty tucked up spins with grabs. Like I set the spin, try to suck legs up In A fluid motion, but it send me so far back seat, I landed literally on back today. I have no problems landing normal 3s and 5s, just when I try to tuck I die.

helpy help = k+

Yes. And I take it you're implying "he" is jake Muller. I've watched as many trip tick videos as I can.

stop skiing backseat and lean forward damn it.

Bro I lean forward and pop at the take off. I'm stable in the air, but As soon as my long legs are tucked up, I die.

maybe you're bringing your legs up too fast?

if you could get a video or something then people here could probably help you better.

I had the same problem but then I just worked towards getting it with a mute. Worked well getting my legs up and a grab

Core strength for stability. And idk man when I Jump off my feet in general ive always sucked my legs up cant imagine straight legging anything lol. Have you skated? Popping an Ollie is sucking your legs up just be conscious about doing it and look around your shoulder not over or under

I never really tuck my legs up just for tucking my legs up, instead I go for a grab which just forces me to suck my legs up, if that's what you are going for try waiting in the spin to grab or tuck you feet up. I just learned how to do them the other day and the trick is just to set the spin and grab at 180-270 just don't think about the grab to much and I usually don't look at my grabs either.

Ahhh, i think that's my problem, I'm going for the grab/tuck wayyy too early and it's throwing me off. That reminds me the time I actually got it I waited so long to tuck up and cross for the mute. sweet. Thanks m9.

Maybe try making a T with your arms and make sure you're not winding up, bring those legs up at around the 180 degree range or sooner.

Just flow with it, a solid pop should bring them up. Also a bigger jump will help. You might be bringing your legs up to vigorously or too fast

when i first learned how to spin with a grab i wouldn't try too spin hard at all. maybe try and do 3s with a safety grab to get the feel of it. all i would do is off the lip is jus pop and jus turn my head and shoulders and soak up my legs and and grab right ski and pull my skis to the side and try to hold as long as i can. pretty much jus float em around. then for mute grabs i would first learn and how to spin jus doing a iron cross like how they did it back in the 90s and once i felt comfortable id start too reach down with my right and try and find my left ski thats crossing over my right. maybe try and start grabbing blunt and then do blunt 180 and then 3s and then work your way up to your biggest spin. but sometimes when you do grab it will set you off axis so if it does and you get the grab jus go with it, more then likely it should bring back and jus spot that landing.

Yeah dude for real like some pros might seem like that grab early but that's because they do it all the time. But it's weird for me it was like 1 run I wasn't even close to getting the grab and then the run after I just got it. Like don't think about the grab think about the spin, set it and I find grabbing a little past 180 or at 270 is the best and once you figure it out grabbing other stuff is easy. Like I learned it with safety first and then the run after I grabbed Japan and the feeling was no different.
