Time lapse tutorial

so im trying to make a timelapse with my gopro and all the tutorials i look at say use quicktime player 7 so i downloaded it and it says i need the pro version to use the image sequence feature. any one know other programs that can do this or are their any other tutorials that can help me out?thanks doods

It can actually be a lot simpler than that, I made a timelapse last night with my 60D. I use canon's EOS utility to capture my pictures on intervals, but the image capture program (stock on macs) will do the same thing if you plug your gopro in, go to file>take picture, than itll ask you to either manually take pics or enter in a time interval to take pictures at. if youre on windows im sure theres a program like image capture, like i said it came with my mac. After theyre done google has a free program called picasa for windows and macs that you can open the photos in, go to create movie, and change the transition style to timelapse where itll let you change resolution, frame rate, etc.

hope this helps!

i can't figure this out. i'll plug my gopro in and it'll recognize, but i can't take pictures with the Image Capture app (i'm assuming because it can't access the camera itself, only the memory card?)

Help?

hmm really? and i assume youre wired in through usb? I know I had to change my settings on the image capture app to save to a certain folder in my computer but as soon as i hit take picture in the app it went right to my 60d, other than that not really too sure man, sorry i couldnt help

huh... i'll keep fiddling with it... thanks for the info though, great to know that it's possible.

but for convenience purposes/immense amount of storage/unlimited battery life, this could serve very well also...

i guess, but it's hard to fill a 32gb card with timelapse pictures. and I would argue its more convenient to not have to carry your laptop. but for a 60d it's definitely good if you don't have an intervalometer or ML

aha to be honest I had no idea, was just trying to help the kid out with his timelapse problem, like I said my 60d has no built in intervalometer so thats my method and I shoot all my video on an xa10 now and cant say i've had any personal experience with a gopro, or any helmet cam for that matter. sorry about the confusion lol
