Hey yall, so as of today I was informed that timberline will run till August like normal, the windells lane is just about toast completely. There is no longer any of the rope tows left as of yesterday the tear down started. Windells may well be moved up above midway on the Palmer glacier due east the lift will be hike on to midway station, walk off top of Palmer starting this Friday. Keep in mind if you plan on going, @destoylab and the windells diggers will make sure you'll have fun, but it will be a rough time. For those that haven't rode Palmer in the summer its load every other chair 4 to a chair all day due to 28 ski race lanes and the mogul racers (where windells may have to push in on their course). Lines average 30-50 yards in peak ride times, I will post pictures as I can tomorrow and over the week on snow conditions if I still have work Ha. Any questions ill try to answer them or I'm sure someone else can lend a hand. Pray for a good winter and save your skis to sacrifice to Ullr.

in response to where all the snow will be in 2016 i remember seeing somewhere on here that someone said that theres a shit load of crabs on cali beaches meaning a strong elnino and that means sweet snow this winter in the west.

God himself could reincarnate and tell me that the snowfall will be good next year, but i'm not gonna believe it until i see snow piling up in the mountains

I have faith in it. The seasons have shifted months earlier it seemed like so this should be a swift good winter. Fingers crossed

Hmm not sure bout who this guy is. There are only 13 race lanes, and windells hcsc def won't be moving up onto the snow field, the race teams hold precedence up there. They will def stay in the lane until at least august 1st, which looks to be closing day to the public- then maybe they will get some space up high. The reasons the rope tows are gone, basically destoy labs farmed a bunch of snow under the rope tows and either the big jump or tows needed to go so the snow could be pushed into the park to keep it going. Doubt the park will be all that big by the time session 4 rolls around but it will still be poppin. Really the biggest (and only) downside to this IMO is that we will need to hike up and out of the lane to get back down to the lift.
