Timberline conditions

Hello.

I'm going to be at Timberline from the 11th may till the 25th may. I know it's been a bad snow year, so I was wondering what the parks look like at the moment and how they'll possibly be looking by the time we arrive? Anyone got the lowdown?

Cheers!

The snow is decent, conways park is fun and has a good bit of snow left, mile canyon is barely filled in, Palmer is looking aight, they've been farming and harvesting snow in the windells and hcsc lanes but honestly man you'll have a great time either way, but snow hasn't been the greatest

No worries brotha, you chose to come out before the snow gets bad which is a good call. If you see me on hill lets take laps! Elevated tall tee and brown pants

Sounds awesome. I'm Danish, and I'm coming out with my Austrian homie, so we're def down to take some laps and get some pointers on local night life and other cool stuff to do around Hood!

The parks should be pretty prime May 11th. WSC is just a couple of days before that and IMO WSC is when the parks are the best. Have fun. If the weather pukes out just take the day off from skiing and check out some epic waterfalls since that is what the cascades are named for. Too many cool falls to check out in one trip but if you have a full day to hike then silver falls state park is probably the best concentration of falls.

They are building parks up on palmer already. They have a halfpipe started and there are some big jumps being built.

Indeed I have NOT, please enlighten me?

nightlife in hood is nonexistent, it is verrrry slow living up here, mostly just smoke dro and kick it after skiing. However charlies bar can be a good time and I'm sure freed would be stoked to show you various strip clubs in portland that he frequents. Park is super fun right now, snowed like a foot last night, lowest I have ever seen it at this time of year but you will have a blast either way

Yeah I assume you're camping OP. If you are, nightlife will consist of getting drunk in the woods with your friends and possibly having a fire if it hasn't rained recently or you buy/steal dry wood. Having grown up in MN I felt very at home with this kind of "nightlife." We got really into Beersby when I was there. Our drinking rules got to the point where you were hammered after 1 game.

This. Airstrip lifestyle.

Portlands for the birds, if you do come out dont go to Portland go somewhere else that's cool. But as for air strip life gotta love it, I did that 4 summers ago... I never left hood haha

Yeah because Portland isn't super close or anything

Yeah you're not gonna go skiing at T-Line, designate one of your friends a sober driver, drive all the way down to Portland, drink at the bars except for your one DD friend who hates all of you by now, and drive all the way back up to camp. That would be fucking retarded. Plus I heard they only serve drinks you've never heard of before, and PBR.

I'm loving the direction this thread is taking, keep it coming. Either way, we'll be at hood from 11th may till 25th may, lets shred and fuck shit up!

I understand if you're down for just a few days to stay in Govy. Honestly though if it's over a week go and explore Portland/Hood River for a day. Or if you wanna skate skip Sandy and go to Gresham/Hood Rivers.

Keep in mind that the sun can really affect the snow this time of year. At some point in May they will shift operations 1 hour earlier and start turning lifts at 8. When the sun is intense it's worth it to get an early start.

Well yeah, we went to Punchbowl Falls for a day trip when I was there and skated Hood River, but I wouldn't go to Portland just to go to the bars lol.
