Thinking about doing a week at Timberline in the next month. Any tips on making it cheap? Better option than rental cars from PDX?

Fly in to PDX, take MAX redline to downtown directly from the airport. If you have any friends in Portland maybe crash for a night depending on your flight. If not send me a message, I live in Portland and would be totally willing to let you crash if you wanted as long as I’m home.

you can then take the MAX all the way to Sandy where you can meet up with the FREE bus that goes all the way to Timberline. You can then take the Bus down and camp off of West Leg or the airstrip if you wanted. Or meet some homies and get a ride up and down. Mt Hood Express is the free bus that runs from Sandy to Timberline every day with stops in Govy as well.

That is awesome!

Op pretty sure the buses are still $1 or $2 except in a couple fairless zones. They only take exact change too so best to bring a stack of ones. I’ve seen people get stuck paying it forward for like 9 other people because they were getting on the Mt. Hood express and only had a $20 bill

As far as early May they were free due to covid but they might not be doing that any more, good tip.
