Thugs vs JJ's

Whats similar about these? Both pretty straight and fat. I think the Thugs look very fun. I have JJ's but considering selling and getting thugs. Anyone know much about it flex wise ect. I know the JJs are very easy to move around even at 188cm, are the thugs the same? Also which has a bigger radius?

 
im not sure in response to the JJs but the thugs are medium flex, super fun. they're actually pretty soft but still very skiable. as in you can do nosebutters on them. super awesome fun ski
 
ive just got some thugs, they are pretty damn stiff in the middle, but are also pretty damn soft at each end, making them great for fast charging, as well as serious pow, and also butters. the perfect combination for me. i would have liked a shorter turning radius really as its quite long, but then again they would only be used as my 'lots of snow, fast charging' ski, so the big radius isnt a big deal too. i got the 191's, and they seem like a lot to handle, im 6ft 1, 185lb, and if i was any smaller i would have gone with the smaller size. hope that helps.
 
reading a review supposevley this years thugs are stiff....but last years was soft and deff would be fun 2 ride
 
depends on what you were riding before (width of the last ski), your best bet would be to look at some thugs in person, they are a really big ski, and the 191's are about 15cms over my head, so they would be huge for you, again it depends where exactly your gonna use them, if you are going to grow into them, and just how hard you ski, but i think the 181's would be a better bet for you.

the thugs dont seem like a very popular ski (as in not many people have them), but they sound sick, and im soo exited to try mine, i think their gonna do everything i want them to do. i guess they are just too expensive, i got my 07/08's for around $420 without binders, which i thought was fine.
 
I'm almost your size, (5'10", 175) and will be able to tell you shortly. I used to have 188 JPs and now have 192 Thugs, but haven't ridden them yet. One thing I can tell you is the Thugs are stiffer, especially in the middle and they ski even straighter than the JPs do. If you want to use it as a jib ski, the 181 might be a better bet because although the Thugs are fairly light for their size, they are nothing compared to the JPs, which are some of the lightest skis ever. Also, the massive tail on the JPs makes them ski a lot shorter. My guess is that because of the width and length, the Thugs would not be an everyday ski in the 192, but you might be able to get away with it in a 181. Overall the JPs are going to be more well rounded, but obviously won't ski the deep stuff the same way.
 
Just to throw it out there. You could also look at Bacons. with their sidecut you could ski everyday all mtn with them too. I'm getting the Bacons I think after looking at botht h Thugs and the JP's. I flexed some Thugs I can't remember if they were this years or last years but they were pretty soft.
