exact science (plehouses film) will have ten riders, the ones i know off my head are belanger, larose (probably), sarah burke, and henrick
its more about all the stuff that leads up to getting the perfect shots that you normally see in movies and more of a reality of what it is like to be a pro skier
retard.( whoever said Berman should do 16mm or whatever) the reason why his movies are so good is because he is such a core movie maker...It's not like the guy cant afford it he just doenst like it or just doenst use it...i think strike three was one of the best out there...i mean come on the guy graduated from an Ivy League school with a degree in film...he could be raking in shit loads of money in Hollywood but instead hes staying true to skiing....Berman 4 Life Bizatch

Uhhh, ok. I agree completely. Berman is sick. Strike Three was my favorite movie this year. What does shooting digital have to do with being 'core'? Why wouldn't he shoot 8 or 16 mm if he had the money? Yeah, he's sick with digi, but he could progress even further with better equipment. Berman will be sick no matter what he shoots with, but if he has the opportunity to move to the next level of filming, if he has that money, why wouldn't he? Being 'core' has absolutely nothing to do with what film you shoot.
^^^ said well... my feelings on on it though.. 16mm is expensive to shoot... very very expensive. Digi is nearly as good, and in fact, if you know what your doing, and you have the equipment, you can make digi look nearly identical to 16mm and other film. There's even a new camera, panasonic I think, that shoots in 24 fps with some other shit that makes it appear like film. A lot of the experts have said good things about it.
Also, with 16mm, you gotta do seperate sound. digi is all in one. I mean, 16mm is more 'professional', but digi is closing the gap.
shooting with 16mm is so expensive it isn't worth most people to use it. even Johnny D has done alot of Digi this year. I saw him at the global x shooting with digi as well as 16mm.....it is just not affordable to shoot 16mm, it is about $100 a minute of film, and 3cccd digi is not that far off in quality
