Thredbo/Jindi living

I've looked everywhere for information on these spots and so far haven't found much. Which is a better place to live for the winter? I know Perisher is sweet but I'm really trying to live at or near Thredbo.

And does anyone have a room for rent? Or info on a job? Help! Trying to fly down there in about 3 weeks and need to figure stuff out asap...

Cross your fingers for some colder temps too. We are a week from the official start of winter and the air and water is still warm enough to swim at the beach in only board shorts

There are a few groups on Facebook you can post in if you want to find a house in Jindy. Your chances of getting accommodation in Thredbo are pretty much zero unless you want to spend all season in a hostel.

As far as jobs go, if you are getting there in 2.5 weeks like your other thread in the Aus Regionals says then you shouldn't have too much trouble picking up work in Jindy. You might even be able to get onto a job with Thredbo still if you are lucky.

Probably cya there and feel free to ask about anything else!

It'll be a bit harder to get a place in 3 weeks time but you will amlmost certainly be living in Jindy, rent will be around $150 a week for a shared room, try to get a job with the mountain unless you can fork out $1300 or so for a pass.

I am heading down soon for my 6th winter in Thredbo but I have always worked for the mountain, feel free to ask any more questions but obviously having only worked for the mountain I would have a ton of info about working for smaller businesses.

Also we currently have no snow (not really strange for this early to be honest) but its unusually warm.. so might be a season to party a little more than ski :p

if anyones heading down this weekend going through syd/canberra i would love to help you out on your petrol costs :)
