Thoughts on Line Skis?

I've rode Line Invaders and Step-Ups and I liked em. I've heard a lot of people talk shit about them though. Any thoughts if they should be on the list for next years gear?

Good stuff...people like to bash them for making cheap Chinese skis. But id bash line too if I paid twice as much for a not-so-great microbrew ski...lets be honest, how long do park skis need to last? Imo if you still got edges and the skis core is still in one, its a success.

The future spin is very good, might be picking up a pair when I get my shop card for 13-14
 
They're going to be like any ski. If you beat the shit out of them hard, they're not going to stand the test of time.

What I do like about Line is the fact that they're warranty is pretty solid. As long as you're not trying to warranty damage caused by repeated smashing on a rail, they're more than likely going to cover it for you.

I'd look at getting the new Future Spin or even the new Afterbang. The Afterbang has been redesigned with 3D butter zones to shave weight and add more pop and control.

Just don't buy Masterminds. They're a cheap beginner ski that can't hold up to big jumps.
 
the durability is on point with pretty much any park ski out there. its not amazing, but its the same as everything else. Their skis are amazing skis though, because they listen to their customers and build what everyone asks for. you should definately consider buying a pair for next season.
 
Line is a great company and their skis are fun. I had a pair of after bangs last year and only rode on them about 8 times before the tip delaminated and the base material separated.
 
The Prophet/Influence line has always been solid, and construction/durability is on par with just about any other ski. I beat the fuck out of my Influence 105 last year, and they are still in good condition.

IMO comparing park ski durability is flawed due to the ability of users being vastly different. Most kids are beaters that just slam into the rails, while better rail skiers are actually able to land with some subtle ability. Also a properly detuned edge should last longer than one that has been left with the factory tune.

 
I used to think that until I tried my friends Line Blends, no top sheet wear all season. The ski is really poppy and can jib all over the mountain. I don't think I'd ever buy a pair though because there are better options.
 
They're a decent company that cares about their customers, and I've found the durability on my Lines to be comparable with other skis I've owned. Also of the Lines I've either owned or skied on, I've enjoyed myself.

Oh and they give good sticker packs when you send a SASE, so props for that too. (not sure how much this last part helps you, but anyway)
 
I had the chronic blends when they were happenin. I think the 06 model. It was the black ones with the skulls and purple smoke. I had them on the hill for two days and on the second day I over-rotated a little on a 5 and landed sideways. Luckily the jump wasn't monstrous so I was short enough on momentum to just slide it out and not catch and edge. Speaking of edge, however, I look down and the entire outside edge of my left ski had blown out. It was just flapping in the wind. Needless to say, I warrantied them through my shop and since I had a trip to Big Sky the next week, the shop just comped me and I picked up my first libertys and never looked back.

Could have been a fluke, but I probably wouldn't go back.
 
iirc 2006 was the first year they started manufacturing in China, and I don't think a ski that was made 7 years ago represents whatever they have currently.

I've been looking at quite a few reviews and Top sheet chipping is the only immediate complaint I've seen, edges are probably fine
 
I have the LTC now and they're super fun for jibbing, light and flexy, they're the best skis I've had in a while. I'm just curious on how long they'll last since it's a cap construction
 
Just picked up some Bacons a few weeks ago and my first impression is very good. Their service was incredible, I ordered them on a tuesday night and they were in my hands on thursday morning. I'll check back when I actually have some days on them and have done more than look at them. I'm going to be almost sad to mount them, i LOVE the topsheet design. If I had the money, i'd buy another pair just to hang on the wall to look at
 
I disagree with all of you saying they have crap durability.

I have 2011 afterbangs that I use for summer jibbing and urban, and they are still holding up after 2 summers of extensive jibbing, which is more harsh on your skis than winter skiing, and a decent amount of urban. They're great beater skis.

I hate how heavy they are, though.
 
I will probably buy the 2014 chronics and I see a lot of bad comments but also great too so i just want to know what people think about them. besicaly about durability
 
Broke 3 pairs of line masterminds in 9 days, and that was when i was like 12 and not even riding hard. Haven't ridden them since, and I am convinced that they are just bad at making durable skis. However, I must say that the line masterminds were an extremely fun ski to ride...
 
like i see line is a very inconsistent brand. There people that had very good experiences whit them other that had bad experiences for durability but i think everybody is okay to say that's line's skis are very fun to ride.
 
I've owned various different skis for each season but I go back to the chronics ever year. And the old school line invader was my first ever park ski.. shit i miss that ski

I've snapped one of my chronics but that was after a couple seasons of pretty burly urban adventures and all over the mountain so i'd for sure recommend line skis to anyone who asks me.
 
Anyone got any thoughts on The TC ski? Need some suggestions. Also if anyone knows a site selling the 2012 2013 chronic let me know pleaseeee
 
I have anthems wich are the same thing. It is my favorite park ski. It is pretty light and super soft and buttery. I have it in a longer length then what I normaly ski so it still holds up good on jumps.
 
Only buy line if you want your children and grandchildren to be slaughtered by china's rapidly expanding evil communist regime. I bought a pair of spiral anthems back in 09... The next day my whole family was taken to work in the sweatshops where they have toiled ever since. They were fun skis though, so I can't complain...
 
Yeah im all clear to buy the TC ski but what about weight? I love to spin. I want to know the spin weight how good are they with the weight?
