Thoughts on J's graphics.

So another new graphic has been released from Jskis. No surprise there. J is a company that focuses heavily on graphics. They have three shapes and have released sixteen different graphics for these three shapes in two years where most companies would have done five.

It's on the friend and it's a re-hash of Burton's elite board graphic from way back meant to poke fun at the elitist attitude in skiing. A yellow to red fade with stripes on top with a white base with text.

Before that was the Margaritaville, with a mostly one-image topsheet and one-image bottom sheet.

Before that was the freedom rock. Images on a white background topsheet with a flag base.

Are they slipping? Is the Elitist a clever take on ski mentality with a simple pattern? Is it an unoriginal graphic rushed to market?

What do you think of J's graphics?

I totally agree. i think that their graphics are definitely getting lazy. some of their stuff is pretty complex but the rest is pretty basic

I think Js graphics are pretty cool and I don't mind that he releases multiple graphics for one ski. Sometimes you don't buy a ski because of the graphics and with so many options I think he eliminates this.

I like it and an the idea behind it. The thing with most of J skis graphics is that if they have a good idea/joke behind them they are great no matter what the graphic is. If the idea is a little boring then it takes a good graphic to make up for it.

also while looking at the ski page J lev actually popped up in a chat window, that shit is fucking awesome 10/10 customer service even though I wasn't a customer (not yet at least, stuff like that makes it hard to resist grabbing some skis from them lol)

You'd be shocked how long it takes to create good graphics with real soul and story behind it backed by a legit video to communicate it all. It's not about just making graphics, it's about making the best skis possible but in super small limited quantities so you own a one-of-a-kind looking ski like no one else on the mountain. If it was easy and not special, everyone would be doing it and you wouldn't bother talking about it.

You guys clearly have a style set, not my style but whatever, art is very subjective and nothing will be "perfect" to everyone. Whats up with so many graphics? I thought it would be one graphic that would change to another one when it sold out- I'm an ass for assuming that though. Do you ever worry about having too many skis and not enough demand because of it? I ask because I know I (and everyone else) can play the waiting game for a few years before the best graphic comes out on the same model- or it at least seems that way.

Ithink j's graphics are really sweet, but i find it kinda weird that the graphics are pulled off of the internet and altered a little bit, and then slapped with a signature Jskis logo. but, none the less, the graphics are very eye catching. and i like what j is doing with selling each version of ski with different graphics. it signifies that you will be one of a kind on the mountain. chances are that no one else on the mountain is going to have the same top and bottom sheets as you. and plus, its all the exact same ski.
