Thoughts on gapers...

They are what they are. You forget that a HUGE portion of the skiing community is casual vacation skiers who aren't the best. resorts make their money on the gapers, not the hardcore pass holders like many on NS. It's something you just gotta live with. And like the other guy said, we were all gapers once. Some may never transcend the gape, others will learn in time. They're here to stay, whether we like it or not.
 
I don't have snow or a home mountain so I'm a vacation skier for now and I'm not priveledged with all winter skiing. Because of that I used to be a huge gaper and still kindve am, and so other gapers don't really bother me
 
I like them because they make me seem better than I actually am. *slides down box non 50 50* OMG HOW DO YOU DO THAT. My entire resort last season was filled with them and had very few skilled riders. Some kid did a front swap and the entire lift freaked out. However they destroy the kickers for rails and jumps by riding over top of them
 
I am thankful for gapers, they give my mountain a reason to update and improve their facilities, and they keep the shop I work at open.

I only wish I could get them to stay out of landings, and stop traversing under all the cliffs...
 
I work park crew I love em! When a kid cruises through your skis you have set up to obviously close a feature. One time I even had skis crossed, 'patrol style' in front of a big feature to close it. And this little kid cruised in, half pizza/fry with arms out position, crash right into them. Like from a 30 yd viewpoint. I didn't even yell at him. That level of unawareness, is nothing less than commendable.

One time we had a guy ask, "Why do you have this rail blocking the jump?" Too classic.
 
I don't do Gaper things but I suck. So am I a Gaper?

Well you arent retarded and you don't act like your good when arent. So no, you are gaper free.
