Thoughts on canon fisheye lens

Gonna go check out and maybe buy and 15 mm canon f/2.8 fisheye lense and figured I’d ask to see if anyone here has any strong feelings either way about it. Plan on using for skating and skiing filming.

I'm assuming you're using a canon camera?

15mm isn't that wide unless you're using a FF camera. My fisheye on my gh5 is a 7.5mm and for most 1.5x/1.6x crops it would be closer to 8mm-10mm, just something to consider.

The other thing is that the canon 15mm isn't a cheap lens, you could spend 200-300 on a opteka (sp) 8mm fish and get your desired results.

8-15 yeh, looks amazing with speedbooster on a gh5.

I second 15mm not being wide enough, of course you could use it for follows but then just get a 12-16 or something of the sort. 8-15 or 8mm is the way to go.

Loved my 11-16 tokina on 1.5x and 2x crop, the fish was good for very specific situations for sure.
