Thoughts of schizo bindings

im thinking about getting the new k2 kung fujas, the idea of schizo bindings sounds cool, but how well do they hold up in the park? anyone know how these handle?

There have been cases where the adjustment cable has snapped. If i were getting some fujas i would try and get standard griffon or jesters since they are more robust. If you huck, jesters, if not, griffons.

General consensus is that they aren't that good. To many moving parts that can break. Realistically you aren't going to want to move your bindings around throughout a ski day either, it's pretty much a gimmick.

I wouldn't be to worried about it, I haven't ridden them myself I have just heard that some people had issues with theirs. If you searchbar them you will see the threads I'm talking about.

general consensus of who? you're assumptions of what people will say about it?

I was sketched out about them at first but everyone i've talked to that owns them, loves them. one of the best all-round skiers i know rides them and he raves about how awesome it is that you can change the position so easily. he's always breaking his gear and hasn't had any problems with the schizo yet as far as i know.

I just got back from a Volkl/Marker product knowledge session at the ski store that i work at. I spent about 5 minutes talking to the rep about these bindings and issues with them breaking.

The problem with last years schizo's is that there was nothing holding the cable into the toe peace. This year marker addressed this issue and secured down the cables. Their not going to break, and they sound fucking sick for a blend, bridge, fujas type ski. Their are a lot heavier than griffons, but being able to move your bindings from standard to centre is 100% worth it in my opinion.

I haven't used them. My buddy has though.

He got some of this years Obsetheds last March.

It was his 3rd day on them, we just were coming down from this chute/face we had to repel into. It went all good.

Once we had hit the cat track, we started jumping and jibbin off rocks and moguls. I look back to see hit eating shit and the toe piece flying 20 feet in the air. Millions were killed. He started crying and then I started crying.

We looked at it, and the just snapped, just the plastic toe plate.

I don't know, it's not a binding I'd buy.

thinking of putting these on Alpha 1's, as ill only have one pair of skis this year, so it would be good to have a center mount for park and backish mount for pow... thoughts?

im not too sure if i want them. im only going to have 1 pair of skis, and i wouldnt be able to afford the time lost or money lost if these broke on me. the extra weight it adds wont help at all either. too bad we arent all sponsored by k2 like pep is. i wouldnt have any problems with their products either haha
