So i recently got the beta for iOS 7, absolutely love it and wanted to share how stoked I am. So what do you guys think of it?

I got the beta aswell, i personally like the dynamic background, but i also wish we could get animated ones that arent based off input from the gyro

Just installed it and this new multitask manager screen is nice:

^^

I have a developer account but you don't need that in order to install it.

Just download the .dmg package for your phone (can be found on pirate bay by now or some other place), open it, dump the contents somewhere.

Connect iPhone to iTunes, and (option/alt) + left clik on check updates, select the contents you just dumped and presto.

I got that good ol' apple feeling while watching the keynote. iOS7 is pretty exciting. It was hilarious when phil schiller said " no innovation my ass".

Also, mac pro is gonna be fucked up sick. probably be way to expensive but still pretty unbelievable what they can fit into a package a little bigger than a gallon of milk.

I read something about an issue where if you can't update it regularly it will brick itself, and that it's extremely hard to go back to iOS 6 if you would want to. Is that stuff true?

I was wondering about this too, but apparently it's just a scam, all you need to do is download the ipsw and get your iphone to update to it using itunes

I have an apple developer account through some place I worked for a few years ago. They have kept paying for it every year probably by accident.

as long as you get the ipsw file you dont need the UDID. You can find the ipsw on thepiratebay for your corresponding model iDevice

I'm gonna go ahead and admit I sound like I live in a cave, because I never heard about iOS7 until this thread, and honestly the new interface doesn't look like how Apple has done their iOS, so long story short I thought this was a troll thread. Googled it and realized it wasn't.

Pretty excited to see how it turns out though

reporting the same as everyone else: looks great, little laggy on my iphone4 but it seems to be improving

I don't know how i feel about this new style. Seems somewhat "childish" if thats the right word, personally i like sharp edges and dark colors, but im sure ill adjust to this. I really just need to install it for myself.

I already hate some of the icons, and choices but everything is forgiving when you look at that bubble level.

That's worthy of a million design awards. It's so beautiful! So minimalistic, so Dieter Rams, so fucking sexy.

I loved the idea that apple was moving away from the skeuomorph aesthetic, but some of the design is really cartoony. The features are sick, and the performance is fine on my 4s, but I'm not loving the color palate and some icon design.

I did this, but now it says We're unable to complete your request because I'm not a part of the developer program.

Spirit level. there's one for each axis, x y and z in case you needed to hang a painting on a wall/measure angle of wall/slope or something, surprisingly good.

Haha that's some sick shit right there.

I may have to get rid of all my jail broken stuff and try iOS 7 out. It's not too laggy on a 4s is it?

I was thinking the same thing, but I think im going to wait it out until they have an iOS7 jailbreak, even if thats not till september.

I was stoked when Apple stepped away from the white bubble aesthetic and onto the brushed steel textures. It felt more modest and to me it was very attractive. This new cartoony stuff looks both A) like the shitty VIAO desktops of the early 2000's, and B) an imitation of Windows 8's tacky GUI design theme.

Definitely childish was the word that came to mind for me too. I really do not like the way it looks whatsoever

Much appreciated, probably gonna grab it after I read a bit more.

Gato, what do you mean it's ugly? many changes?

That, my screen randomly turns on/off, sometimes I press the top button and it goes to the lock screen in stead of turning off, the picture of an app sometimes doesn't show up in multitasking, sometimes it takes 4 or 5 presses of a button to turn on my screen, some weird glitch opening/closing apps, my iTunes Radio is randomly stopping, my mini player on the lock screen sometimes appears when I turn my screen on and sometimes freezes that way and sometimes is showing over the time, my background movement glitches when closing an app sometimes.

And scrollable pages sometimes get stuck scrolled a bit down, iMessage "bubbles" sometimes are overlaying the "delivered" or "read" text

great... ended up updating to beta 2, now phone gets stuck turning on. Now I have to restore it and I didn't even fucking back it up... rage, mainly just pissed off about the lost snapchats, #firstworldproblems

Beta 2 is running a lot smoother then beta 1 especially in the multitasking aspect of it. The wallpaper does go black sometimes, but the most annoying thing is, most of the time the music controls in the lock screen do not work. i.e. you can't pause the music, and same goes for the control centre. Voice memos is back which is awesome and there is a new cool feature in artist section of your music, instead of the album artwork it is a portrait of the artist. If you didn't already know, setting your background as a pano is quite cool

I had beta 1.

I like it a lot but for some reason I could only start to update my apps and then they would freeze and then I couldn't use the app unless I went to the app store and clicked on it. Also a lot of apps wouldn't run.

All in all is was cool to use for a little bit but I went back to ios6 until the beta runs smooth.

I fucked up and accidentally restored my phone though which pissed me off but oh well.

I wonder why anybody has mentioned that this IOS is totally inspired by Galaxy design and a bit of skype. Or am I the only one to feel I am not really using an apple-made-IOS ?Thoughts ?

Otherwise I love it, smooth, elegant, simple. BTW, i removed in settings the moving background, pretty useless IMO. WIFI, and other essential utilities become very handy on this IOS, good point.

My phone right now isn't jailbroken and has no modifications to it, but I'm considering trying out iOS7. Are there any downsides to downloading it?

Looks pretty interesting to me so far though.

bump to second page.

As to the guy above me, the only downsides are that you have to reset your phone and the beta has a lot of bugs. If you end up not being able to deal with the bugs or don't like it, you can always reset your phone to iOS 6.
