I'm fucking sick and tired of seeing 12 friends changed their profile picture! And not knowing how a person is on chat because their icon is fucking mewtwo or pikachu. Don't get me wrong I love playing pokémon but I'm just tired of these kids doing it for attention or as a trend.

It's to raise awareness for child abuse or something. You're supposed to change your picture to a cartoon character from your childhood.

come on its not that hard, and some people you dont know either way. Its for a good cause so stop whining.

 
I never chat on facebook. If I want to chat with someone, I call them, or meet up with them in real life and chat.

Facebook is only used for me to see whom from my grade is getting married or giving birth. That's it.
 
Hate to burst everyone's bubble here, but it's not for raising child abuse awareness, it's for slacktivists to feel better about themselves.

There is nothing out there that is recognizing people changing their profile pictures and donating/advocating for the cause. It's put together by slacktivists to make themselves feel better about supposedly "doing" something, while really it's nothing.

If you really wanted to promote child abuse awareness and help the cause you would be donating your time, or money, by picketing the streets or donating to charities. People who think that things like changing your profile picture are actually doing anything, are lost in the turmoil that is the slacktivist measure.

TLDR: changing your profile picture to some cartoon character from your childhood does nothing except make you feel like you're doing something to help some cause.

All these stupid facebook trends do is help me identify the people who i do not want to ever talk to again.

i agree the profile picture changing is dumb, but it says their name at the bottom of the chat thing. not that hard to look and see it
