Girls,

I want to get my wife a set of twin tips. She's tiny 5'3" 110lbs...Do you guys usually get smaller versions of the men's skis, or do you go with womens specific park skis? She would probably want something less then 85mm underfoot. Let me know what you think. Also, guys feel free to tell me what your GF's ski.

Are womens skis any different? Or just prettier?

Thanks

i work in a shop and sell some girls twins. id say the salomon mai tai is one of the best, or the temptress if you wanna go cheaper. or the line shadow (its symmetrical). 4frnt madonnas are nice but theyre like 90 underfoot so thats probably more than you want. And besides the obvious graphic differences, women's skis are lighter and smaller. and im not sure if this is tru for twin tips, but for directional skis, they are more made for a woman's center of gravity. (its in theyre hips, ours is in our shoulders) so the mounting positions and shit are a little different.

i would say you should probably go with a woman's ski. she could get a mens ski if she's a good skier. but i suggest going with woman's. i'm smaller than her and i've tried a few mens skis and they're usually heavier and stiffer. maybe look at k2 missdemeanors, they're really fun skis.

my gf skis both anthems and rossi girls scratch fs. looking for something narrower, the scratch fs is awesome, she loves them, theyre lightweight and a good medium flex, and come in a 148.

line shadow isnt bad, symmetrical, lightweight park twin (but its an invader, so its not all that great outside the park).

mai tai is nice, womens suspect, so a bit stiffer, but salomon is having all sorts of warranty issues

head ge pro would also be nice, suuuuuper lightweight, mid flex, very playful, but narrower underfoot, which given her heigh will be easiest to ski all mountain.

k2 missdemeanor or nancy would be strong too, depending on what shes looking for. nancy is a great bc tool, its the old seth (from two years ago) made lighter, the missdemeanor follows the extreme mold, and works great in both park and all mountain, but lacks the life of the others.

My girlfriend needed shit that looked cool. It was more important than anything.

She was looking at Roxy, Volkl, Elan, and K2 skis. They were the most appealing visually....She ended up with a pair of Armada Cantika's from 08 with the purple thing going on.

They match her Dalbello Lotus LS I think it is 2008 boot that is...of course "eggplant purple". Than it was finding some female looking poles, and not to dance on either.

Then fucking socks with cherries on them.

What was important was comfort, and she happened to enjoy the boots comfort the most (over a Raya 7), and and the fact she liked to wear them.

Whatever it is, she likes them
