Here is the official announcement: MT. BAKER WILL BEGIN OPERATION ON THURSDAY NOV. 20th at 9:00 A.M. We received huge amounts of snow this weekend and the ski area looks great! On Thursday, we will be running chairs 1,2,3,5 and 8, and we anticipate being in full normal midweek operation on Friday. With the great mountain forecast calling for even more snow later this week, we anticipate being in FULL OPERATION OUT OF BOTH BASE AREAS FOR THE WEEKEND!

So get ready, and WE'LL SEE YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN!

on their website they are claiming a 46 inch base

Yes, tickets at Crystal are only $20, but the ENTIRE mountain is open at Baker, and at Crystal less than half is open. Tickets at Baker on Thursday are only $29.

We have received a phenomenal amount of snow this week and we have fantastic snow coverage. We have been in a unique cold weather pattern and Baker has been receiving snow when other mountain areas have been receiving rain. This is the MOST SNOWBASE WE HAVE HAD FOR OPENING DAY IN ALMOST A DECADE!

The forecast for the next four days is for continued cold temperatures and more fresh snow with sun breaks so it's looking like great conditions for the weekend.

For opening day on Thursday we will be operating Chairs 1,2,3,5, and 8 and we anticipate being in full operation with all lifts running and both base areas open for the weekend. . . .and there might even be a rail or two up!
