This is why my life hurts, who can beat me with a worse life

no one here is feeling bad for you. out of curiosity, why did you do those things? because right now im thinking you're just an idiot, and that's potentially not true

if we still use the term 2nd world, i would say that the rates there are higher. and with middle europe being so high, idk what your point here is.

two different sources. data for africa is not easily to obtain. i know what your point will be.

but its not that easy. you could argue that drugs which can be used for suicides are easier to access in 1st world countries (which could also be a reason why doctors have 3-5 times higher suicide rates).

life is not so black and white as you think.

no, my theory is that it is far more socially acceptable and in the public eye in wealthier countries. It is romanticized in movies and books, celebrities do it etc, so regular folks view it as a viable, romantic idea.

In poorer countries they have a more survivor type attitude, along with deeper religous beliefs that make them not view suicide with anything other than what it is: a morally reprehensible act that goes against the one overriding animal instinct we have: to live.

I think suicide rates actually have very little to do with happiness rates.
