THIS DOESNT EVEN MAKE SENSE

sweet jesus
the forecast for where i live for the next 10 days:high 50-55low 40-45partly cloudy/cloudy/showers
...fuck

there is no way this is real. winter storm waring is only predicting 3ft through 4pm thursday...

that shit also said we were only supposed to get 6-8 inches the last storm bozeman got and we got 2 feet. lies

yeah the numbers in the original post are off..........cause 10 ft in 36hrs isn't happening. Sites im looking at just call for about a foot tonight?

hahaha if only the summit of mt baker was lift accessible. but even at the lower elevations shit will be prime.

well that would be at the top of the volcano that they are predicting that the ski area is not actually on the mountain. but what i don't understand is why they are even forcasting for mt baker. don't they know that it esploded

Who's up for flying into Seattle for an epic NS road trip next week then!?!

Apparently there was a tree well fatality at Baker recently, anyone know anything about that? Tree well danger is super high at the minute.....

not tree well. Some old motherfucker skinning with his wife fell of a cornice head first and his wife never found him. They found his body with the recco system the next day or so with the Recco "bodyfinder" system.

but yes. tree well danger does exist

Early 90's there was an epic season in the Pacific NW. Reports were that they got so much snow at one time that guys were hucking cliffs and never made it out of their bomb holes. Obviously this was before fats, but supposedly a few guys died because they augured in, couldn't get out and basically drowned.

Yeah, I think whats going on is that the forecast models break down at these higher elevations and WAY over predict quantitative precipitation forecasts for the peaks. Regardless, the PNW is getting hammered and I'm super jealous.

nope. 98/99 season. bakers record year. most snow ive ever skied... pretty much assumed a pow day every weekend.

Yup, the most epic year ever.... 1,140".....Fucking One Thousand One Hundred and Forty inches, ridiculous.
