1031833.jpegI sealed a few core shots with marine epoxy and then used a hot waxing iron to melt ptex on top of it. The epoxy liquified and mixed with the ptex. The result is way stronger than ptex (and sticks to the edges) but also a better texture (and wax retention) than epoxy.

I took a similar repairing adventure a month ago after clipping a shark in the shallows that buckled my edge pretty good. I don’t have a finished pic but my ptex job is far from pretty. Gets the job done!

Tore my edge out of my Kartels a couple of years ago. Replaced the edge with a Salomon edge, nailed in with tiny wood screws, then sealed it in.

She held strong for a little over a year, then I did a big rock slab ride, and it tore it all out. But Damn, it was a pretty good fix.

Got tired of epoxying/ptexing after literally everytime i skied them and resorted to just dumping on the wax. The other ski has the exact same damage and theyre now demounted wall art skis

also want to plug @panik.ptex for custom colored ptex ?
