what are you crazy good at when it comes to skiing?

personally,i can rip my snow pants crotch every single time i go skiing, im about to get sponsored by my local dressmaker

I’m pretty proud of the sheer number of times I’ve been able to quickly maneuver around a 9 year old after having landed switch

Putting up with my piece of shit boots. The shell is too small and I have a hole in my liner from the heel running up the back of my calf.

Respect

have “put up” with boots before myself , once you learn you don’t break in the boot, the boot breaks in you skiing gets better

The other day I just did a little 180 off of a side hit on a main trail and was cruising down switch because there wasn't anyone else there and I see this little kid (like 6 or something) come flying out of the woods on my blind side. I was going pretty fast so I didn't have time to revert or even slow down at all so I had to maeuver around this kid or else I was gonna knock him out cold. I think I ended up hitting his skis with my skis because I looked back and he was sprawled across the trail and his skis came off. I quickly went back up to him to make sure he was okay and he just kind of stared at me looking really shocked and wouldn't say anything. He seemed fine so I just made sure he got his skis back on and went down the trail. I'm so glad his parents weren't there becuase they probably would have tried to have my pass pulled or something just because I was skiing switch.

Idk, not really related to the thread but I felt like sharing.

I'm amazing at doing dumb shit on skis that still requires skiing skill like polish donuts, nose blocks, side hits with heavy head etc

I feel like I'm super good at spending 10 minutes to kick every bit of snow off my boots before clipping in.

I like to think my sound affects when I fall are on point, especially when under the lift. I try to mimic the noise that lady made when she was smashing grapes and fell off the stand

I excel at getting way too high and sitting in my car in the parking lot for extended periods of time.

fell asleep doing this a couple times, not my proudest moments

I'm pretty good at letting other people go ahead of me, then timing when I drop so nobody really sees me ride

Constantly unbuckling/buckling my boots since they’re 2 sizes too small and my calves are big so I need to do it so my feet don’t get their circulation cut off

Telling myself today is the day I actually try some new tricks but end up spending the whole day doing some warm up laps and the same 4 tricks I've known for the past 4 years...

Being absolutely garbage when somebody is filming me.

bruh this I was trying to do a top to bottom lap in my hill's beginner park and ate shit twice on stupid easy tricks. that was the only time I got a clip this season lol

I make the weirdest noises when I leave the ground, especially if I'm upside down, sometimes just screech out an "oh shit", even if everything is fine.

I mean my boots are 2 sizes below my shoe size but I'll get frost bite on a 40º day if I don't unbuckle on the lift, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Tbh the racers aren't wrong with starting from a tiny ass shell and molding it a bunch, cause even though I walk a fine line with circulation, they rarely hurt, and my foot never moves. Never lost a toe nail skiing.

Every time I smoke and ski, I become a way better all mtn skier, but a shit park skier. Not really sure what it is about it but every time I smoke before skiing, I find myself eating shit on simple rail tricks, but then link up some fucked gaps that I didn't think were possible or just didn't notice in the first place.

same bruh if it’s cold out I’ll have to take my boot off on hill to move my toes around but I wouldn’t want another size because when I crank my boots, my feet do not move whatsoever inside and I have about zero heel lift. Makes my skis feel like they’re apart of my feet.
