Things to do with a torn ACL

Hey dudes and dudettes of NS,

I recently had ACL surgery after poppin it skiing this winter and have no idea what to do with myself. I've only just started rehab (surgery was this past wednesday) and I'm just getting ansty being stuck at home everyday doing absolutely nothing. What are some fun things I can do that are knee friendly?

What were you trying when you tore it? I'd just get yourself focused on the rehab and hit it hard. If you want to slay park again, make sure you take the rehab seriously.

Other than that, find some other hobbies. Learn to play guitar, videogames or something more productive. I dunno man it's hard to say, I've never torn an ACL. I can't remember what I did when I dislocated my shoulder and tore my labrum but I'm sure it wasn't productive.

I was doing a rodeo 5 at sugarloaf and cased, such a fluke because I've been doing that trick for 4 or 5 years. I've been doing athletic therapy for the past 2 months pre surgery to the point where I was almost back to the strength level I was at before the injury (except not having an ACL haha). Theres only so much I can do, only just got cut open on Wednesday

And I have been playing a lot of guitar and all that, just looking for some kind of physical activity or something to get out of the house. I hate being shut up doing nothing at all haha

Dude. I had my achilies operation on the 15th. (fully tore it playing indoor soccer) It's my right leg so I can't drive. I feel like a complete gimp. Don't know about you but the injury didn't hurt half as much as the post op.

Good drugs though.

live a normal life without sports.it sucks but when you lose some you gain some. I've been a lot more social since I tore my acl and been playing a lot more guitar. it's kinda nice but I was at the hill today watching a comp and I just wanted to ski so bad.

sorry yo, you're going to want to do athletic things, but you have to put that out of your mind for at least a few weeks. I tore my meniscus with my ACL and I was in a locked brace for a month pretty much couchlocked. The vicodin made the boredness manageable lol. The first time I was cleared to ride the exercise bike was 6 weeks after and that was amazing getting the heart rate goin for the first time in a month and a half. Just listen to your doc, kick it for a while, enjoy the meds and take it slow.
