Had some Volkl Ledges lying around and figured they’d make a decent spring/beater touring ski. Still need to figure out narrower brakes. Might cut swallow tails cause the extra skins I have are just too small to fit normally.

Right now the plan is to use some g3 twin tip tail clips, but if I do cut the tails, i’ll probably seal it with marine tex.

My home mountain is still open, but probably closing after this weekend so this setup may be more useful than I originally thought.

yeah i was going to say, it seems likely you'll be better off using a connector kit or whatever to get the skin setup working well rather than modifying the skis themselves. but maybe you know a ton more than i do about safely doing that kind of ski mod

yeah, i think it's a good idea to get a skin setup going!

kinda sketched about going too deep in the woods, considering I’m kinda fucked if I need a hospital.

Might use the time to clear up some abandoned woods trails at my home mtn. Hope you find a setup

that's a good idea. it's fun and healthy just to get out there so i'm sure you'll find it rewarding

Pro tip: If your skins are too short, just use ski straps, and some wire or zip ties to extend the length of their tail straps. Works really well on G3 and BD skins. Just use the wire to weave the voile strap to the skin strap, and then the metal clip fits perfectly in the holes in the ski strap.
