Yup, basically got confirmation from 2 Black Box Studios game developers yesterday. I was riding up the Blackcomb Gondola when the two older guys who were on it with us began discussing the success of their creation, the Skate series. Immediately I got the asking-the-hot-girl-in-8th-grade-to-slow dance jitters and blurted out "You work for Black Box?" They gave me a hearty confirmation, telling me that they both worked in development for the series. The next question, as we've been discussing for the past few months, is "Will there be a snow based relative to the Skate series?" One of them gave me a smile and a nudge, nudge, wink, wink kno-what-I-mean "perhaps" and the other looked over with a similar countenance and said "check the internet". It was the closest thing to a yes they could give me. On my way off the gondie, the last thing I said, was to make sure they got the buttering bit down perfectly and away I went to enjoi a beautiful Whistler powder day. Just thought I'd share.
 
dopesauce?? whatd he mean by check the internets?? has it been confirmed online or is like a check in the future reference? but that would b so dope, even if it was just snowboarding, but if it had skiing, ide jizz in my pants
 
so.. i did a breif check of the internet and all i could find is that balck box is closing down in vancouver and moving to montreal or something but that it will infact still be called black box. but nothing about no new games in planning yet
 
word. I asked them if they were shutting down, cause that's what I'd heard but he simply explained that they have studios in Cali and on the East Coast and it was a mere move not a shut down.
 
thats wonderful...i can only imagine skate controls on skis to be undoubtedly awesome, lookin forward to it.
 
Thats sick, hopefully they put skiing in it, but on another note, anybody played Stoked yet, it's supposed to use the same controls as skate.
 
true dat, snowboarding is still "way cooler" in the public's eye, but I think if they include both snowboarding and skiing it will sell like hotcakes. IMO
 
that seems like it would be the best bet, considering it would cater to both sports. I'm not really sure why no one has ever made a game that is totally equal like that, go figure
 
ssx on tour was half skiing half snowboarding, even though the skiing part was poorly made.

but its just like making a skateboarding game and an inline game... you mix the 2 it really wont sell more, maybe just less... the population of NS isnt really the target market of game designers.
 
how many other people are pissed that SSX on tour doesnt work in their 360....

after my xbox broke and i didnt have a game system for about 6months, after halo i was super stoked to play some SSX but no, its not compatible.

this has huge potential hopefully it turns out good!
 
even if they made the game thats just speculation we'll have to wait a while before we can actually play it but it would be a really sick game...
