any one else agree? There is a video section for a reason! I always see vids posted in SG of people's promos or of "cool" edits. Why dont these people just utilize the video section to it's fullest! NSG isn't an issue, as all the vids posted there have nothing to do with skiing, but in SG its getting ridicules.

i agree completely with this. there are too many edits in SG. i feel like the threads that are saying to post "best _____ edits here" are acceptable though.
 
It doesn't really bother me. People want exposure and lots of good edits go unnoticed because somebody decided to upload 12 videos from their cellphone or some situation like that. Plus I'm sure people also want more feedback. Besides if it does stop its not like a whole bunch of quality threads will replace them.

hes right ^, its not like they will be replaced with anything special, sometimes its good to watch promos you might have not seen because you dont look for them in the video section
 
Yea i dont mind it because usually they are dope, or terrifically bad.Sorting through the video section is such a bitch sometimes.
 
this. Good edits and terrible edits both have a rightful place in SG. Nothing wrong with a kid being stoked on their work, or trying to get some exposure. If its an unnecessary thread, it will fall to the bottom.
 
I completely disagree, good edits shouldnt even be in the forums. Letting one kid post his video means another will and then more will in the future since its "ok" and then in a year SG will be only videos of shitty edits and it will be "ok". We don't need that to happen.
 
Whatever, I don't want to have to go searching for good edits, and god knows the rating system is fucked. Edits are what the modern freeskiing movement is built on, and its important to give those worthy edits as much airtime as possible.
 
You think all ski news with disappear from SG? You think kids will post there after they see the amount of hate they recive if its shitty. I think if we allow it things will stay the same, Some sick edits will be posted becuase they are "Ski Gabber" and the shitty ones will be made fun of and dead in a day.
 
I agree that seeing videos in SG is annoying, but I feel that videos get lost so easily in the video section.
 
Every time I see one my blood boils, I try to tell these kids off as best I can but they do not seem to care.
 
you need to settle down man ^_^ its not like these threads would be replaced by something. than it would just be the same old threads for a couple days until any decent ones would show up, these videos let kids hype themselves and feel good, and they also renew whats in our forums, and keep everything shifting
 
People post them in SG because they want to get more exposure on there video. Unless your video becomes top rated it disappears and is never watched again after about 2 days because it leaves the "newely" uploaded video page.

 
Its just frustrating to see these kids obviously trying to support themselves. "Hey check out my friends sick edit!" They should just say that it is theirs because they are not fooling anyone.
 
I don't understand what is so annoying about them. I have no problem with seeing some edits in the main forums. If you don't want to watch them, don't click on them and post. If its good, then why not have it in the forums? If it sucks, it will fall to the bottom.
 
I couldn't agree more. Everyone bitches about what goes into SG, when it clearly states it is a place for anything to do with skiing. I know there is a video section for a reason, but its almost impossible to have any type of cohesive conversation about an edit besides for "sick man" or "that sucked dude." If someone wants a particular edit to get the exposure they feel they deserve than thats fine with me.
Also, some of the best edits i've seen have come from SG and some really funny or interesting conversations about them have come up as well. My opinion is if you dont like a thread ignore it, saying something negative will just bump it to the top.
 
so a blanket ruling of no videos in SG - and only in the video section? Does media/arts play a part?

Yea I agree that they shouldn't be in SG. Post videos in the video section, media & arts and cults that revolve around filming and edits. I feel ski gabber should be for ski related things that aren't edits.
 
If people didn't post edits in SG then we wouldn't have some epic video's like that one from a month ago with the guy who made a "sponsor video" with him talking on his sister's bed for 2 minutes.
