so i hear people talk about THE windlip at whistler, can i see a picture? or has it been in any movies? i want to see if i know what jump theyre talking about

no i think it is a natural step up and i hit at blackomb the natural jump is has to mush transition for its lenght so it is hard to do stuff on it

^just a windlip on the blackcomb glacier, the two defing features is that it has a huge steep inrun, and a a huge lading area. So people have hit it going 70 and just straight air it to see how far they can go. Ive heard that some people have gotten 4 second of air time.

coaches at HN told us some asian dude who never boarded b4 just pointed it from the top and did a ton of flips and went like 100ft or somthing

It was the Schrab brothers that did the double misty and the massive backflip to broken Pocket Rocket. I'm not sure if the vids are still floating around... but that shit was crazy.

last summer sesh 2 at HN we warmed up over there. its basically a massive drop off with lot of opportunity for a good jump/ but i think you needed to hike it back up cause it runs out. we threw some snowball down and it grew into a massive one at the bottom

We built a stepup on the windlip a few years ago and had to straightline from the top of the wall to clear it. It was scary and pretty fucking crazy.

 
Is it open in the summer if so i am gonna hit it do you know if the coaches at momentum will let u hit it

during the summer it doesnt look like that with the snow. it is all slushed out. but that is the spot where like 5 years ago all those crazies guys like Kyle and Ian whatevers were trying 1440's and the Schrab brothers were doing retarted things

theres a similar thing below 7th heaven chair. that would be sooo extreme on a pow day to just go massive

man.. we hit the windlip for like 2 weeks in a row last summer (until the crevasses took it). in the summer there are kickers of all sizes. some set back like 50 feet from the knuckle.. some really steep so you go higher than you do long.. the one we hit was sooo perfect, and some asian snowboarders built it. we'd help them everyday, and we could slip the landing decently, and they'd get so stoked.

it's true about the footage of some lightweight snowboarders wailing the shit out of the windlip. I saw footy of these three boarders hitting that thing and literally looking like falling leaves, they went so big. It looked like they took it from the lip, about 160-180 feet down the hill. They spun, kind of out of control, ate shit at whatever point in their rotation they landed, but they were unharmed. It made Luke Schrab's backflips look average sized

 
Years and years ago, the windlip was where I did my first backflip ever. I still remember that day, good times.
