The past week ive been filming at my local skatepark and came up with a little edit. Basically, I want to know how you guys thought it came out and what I should do to improve upon it. Im looking into getting a rokinon 8mm, and at the moment I only have the 18-55mm kit lens. Anyway, im just basically looking for an overall critique on this, thanks! constructive critisism and good advice gets +k!

really easy to do,

Make the title in photoshop:

Make an image the size of your video frame (ie 1920x1080 for 1080 video), make the inverse of the letters black(or whatever color) and the letters themselves blank space, saving it as a png will keep the blank space

Bring the png into your editor and place it above the clip

that's it, very simple if you have basic photoshop knowledge
 
Loved the intro! i saw a few of the shots were a little shaky, and idk what camera you used but the slow mo wasnt super smooth..maybe shoot in 720 60p if possible, i would have filming a little closer to the subject in some shots but overall i really liked it! banger tricks! really nice colors!
 
thanks man! i just picked up a flycam so that will take care of the shaky shots. As for the camera, I am using a t2i and a 18-55mm lens. I was messing with frame rates throughout this video, and ive found that i like 720 60 the best. +k for the feedback
 
Ditch the 2.35:1 crop and leave it at 16:9. You need to have smoother and more cinematic shots (i.e. more attention to composition) for that look to work. Also, your crop changed at the beginning.

You said you are getting a stabilizer, so that's good. Idk if you have a tripod or not but if you don't you need to invest in one. Other than that it looked alright. There were some exposure problems in some spots but most of the time it was pretty good. Also, considering you are still learning, I would suggest shooting most action sports at 720p60. You can always speed it up in post, and then you also have the option of slowing it down easily. Look into how to conform your footage to 24p as well.
 
I do have a tripod, and use it a bunch, but other than that i dont really have anything at the moment. Thanks for the advice! 10/10 k

you commented above you do have a tripod and its obvious because of some

choppy panning. so, overall just try to smooth things out. but looks

good other than that, a stabilizer was my main critique. also not a fan

of the crop but i can see how you would be.

colors looked tight, skating and edit were on point. keep playin around!
