The truth about all the top tier candidates

Oh look, another Ron Paul fanboy thread...

Not that I don't think he's one of the 'better' candidates, but the man is as out there as any of them, just in different ways. He's a straight shooter and isn't afraid to tell it like it is, and I love that about him, but he's also extremely hardcore 'oldschool' conservative, which I don't think is a very good thing in many ways.

I would love to live in a world where I wake up everyday knowing that Ron Paul is in office and he is getting shit done. Honestly, being a conservative is a good thing in most cases.

Name some things that you Dont agree with that Ron Paul supports, just do it, now. The constitution is basically good enough to run this country as it stands (thats why they fucking wrote it, a basis for the government to run by). Please, name something that you disagree with Paul. I bet you cant even come up with any cause hes the fucking man and is wayyyyy smarter than any politician in DC.

I'm just gonna sit back and wait for bob to school you... but here's a couple right off the top of my head...

Ron Paul is:

-Anti-abortion

-Pro wasting money on securing our borders

-Cutting funding to many government offices (some of which could probably go without any harm, but many of which are still needed)

Personally, I find Obama's stances to be far more aligned with my own, as well as his views on working to end corruption in government, which I feel is a probably the biggest issue, meaning if we end the corruption, the rule of the country really WILL be with the people, not corporations and rich people.

this is actually more about how shitty the front runners are then about RP. also he seems "out there" because thats the way the mainsream media paints him. and as far as i can tell there are only a handful of RP supporters on this site and only like 4 threads on him.

I love watching him speak and do believe he's probably the best Rep. candidate, my problem is people don't realize that he IS actually 'out there' in the sense that he is a very strict minimal government conservative, which in the past would have been known as the 'far right'. Not to say that he's not a good candidate, but so many people don't actually know all that much about him and have just jumped on the bandwagon.

will i would love to have a small government. obama is is a huge liberal and would not only enlarge our government, but put us farther in debt. he may not be as corrupt as giuliani or denny haster or some of the neocons in washington but he is pro israel and pro war. you should watch some youtube videos of RP talking about our budget and our economy, he is lightyears above obama nad the other top tier candidates, one of the smartest politicians i have ever heard.

The entire USA is basically anti abortion if you didnt notice.

Our borders are fucked (especially mexican border). Do you like illegal immigrants invading our country then and killing 14+ citizens a day?

There are a fuckton of government agencies that do nothing but suck up money and resources. The only reason people have a problem with cutting all these stupid departments is because people will lose their jobs. By god, its not like they couldnt find another job...fucking idiots.

also melvs did you forget that obama voted in favor of giving bush another 100 million for this war only months ago?

I had a bunch all written up but then I did ctrl Z to delete something and it zapped the whole thing. so here is an abridged version.

The constitution is not an infallible document. It is a work in progress and has been since

day one. Would you take medical advice

from a doctor in 1776? It was a much

different time. It is the same way that

people try to treat the bible like an exact interpretation of how to live. If anything is a framework to be built

upon. The constitution was written by

racist rich white male owners. Language

was taken out of the constitution making it acceptable to own slaves and

control the poor. Basically it can and

has been changed and will continue to change as times progress. That is why it works not because people haven’t

challenged it.

Ron Paul is the best of the republican candidates but he is

not my candidate. Here are some of the

reasons why.

[if !supportLists]1) [endif]He

has no chance, which is a shame, because he has alienated his own party.

[if !supportLists]2) [endif]He

is a conservative and favors taking rights away from people in the name of

small government. He supports letting

small independent school districts be allowed to teach whatever they want with

no national standard. He is against

abortion.

[if !supportLists]3) [endif]He

is running on a republican ticket as a man who will create a smaller government,

and lower national debt. No republican

in this century has ever made an effort to create smaller government. Bush ran on an isolationist conservative

ticket and look what we have now. Clinton organized a

budget and spending plan that created a gigantic surplus and would have had the

national debt paid off this year. We are

now trillions of dollars in the red. Government

programs are important and need to be maintained and watched over. We can look at Europe

for this where the quality of life is much higher due to government programs.

[if !supportLists]4) [endif]He

is a stringent capitalist and is against many socialized programs that work

well in Europe among other places such as

health care.

[if !supportLists]5) [endif]He

is from texas*

[if !supportLists]6) [endif]His

solution for securing the boarders is to build a giant fence and patrol it with

thousands of guards, small government?

The only thing we need to do to secure the boarders in enforce the

law. A 10,000 dollar fine for every illegal

immigrant found working for your company, ID checks to purchase property or

rent property.

[if !supportLists]7) [endif]He

is anti stem cell research.

[if !supportLists]8) [endif]His

campaign funding is largely supported by lobbyist groups. (This is a general political statement.)

I do agree with him on 90 percent of his issues but its hard

not to. Lower taxes! No more war! No

Mexicans! Its what everyone wants to

hear. It’s the candidates that are realistic

and concise and say what is right not what the people want to hear. That is the candidate that I will vote for. If you read Obama’s book Audacity of Hope

you can see how he feels about the issues.

* Not necessarily a valid point.

We are supposed to be building a fence right fucking now (This project

is already passed) and there are supposed to be people patrolling the

border right fucking now, but Bush is to big of an idiot to get

anything done. Like I said, the US government has already passed the

paperwork to build a fence. Its only 2 miles long right now. wow that

does alot of good. Ever heard of the great wall of china? Building

walls works to keep people out. Our country can only hold so many people before it collapses and all of our natural resources are used up.

-No, you are entirely wrong.

-Last time I did the math, I came up with each illegal immigrant being responsible for LESS killings a per person than an American (# deaths caused / # of people of that group), so while they ARE killing a few people, it's at a lower rate than normal Americans... I'm just not someone who wants to waste billions on building a fence that won't do much.

-I'm not even going to argue with you over this.

you are an alarmist and a fool. A wall would cost millions and be impossible to patrol. No other countries have walls. They have security and track green cards and don't let people rent houses that dont have green cards. The Chinese were eventually defeated because of their isolationist policies.

-Name one candidate who has ever won the presidential office who was for abortion, please do it. Sometimes you just got to tell people what they want to hear.....

-I understand, Americans kill americans too, that will never stop. But we can deter illegal immigrants killing americans if we get them the fuck out, wouldnt you saY? Just because americans kill americans doesnt make it fine for illegals to kill us too.

-For every word in the english language, their is a governmental agency who supposedly runs that shit. See, I dont understand why people think its bad to cut back on shit. Companies lay off people all the fucking time and for some reason its a big deal because these are governmental employees!! You cant lay them off!!! They are uber leet!! They will go homeless if you take their job away!!!

Not entirely true. Chile, for example, instead of having border patrols or something, has minefields in some parts of the border. I bet that's a pretty effective barrier, while it isn't a wall, per se.

hahahaha wow, you seem real smart and credible

i agree 100% with darkFranchise, he made some great points.

ya so does Korea and Vietnam. There is an anti land mine treaty that was signed by every country a while ago except the US because of the mines in Korea protecting the south from the north. I am pro land mine though we could build that for a lot less than a fence and if anyone ever decided to cross it we wouldn't have to deport them because they would be blown back into their own country.

whoopdy freaking doo, millions of dollars isnt shit anymore. When you build a wall, it cuts back on the amount of patrolling you have to do. Im pretty sure illegals would have a hard time climbing a 20 foot barb wire/electric fence wouldnt you say? Illegals dont rent houses, they just stay with people they know. Yes 20 + people will live in one house built for 4.

I think he's using the poorly chosen words above (pro-abortion) against you guys as nobody's (generalized statement) pro abortion.

I am in class now, so I'll keep this quick and too the point.

Bill Clinton was Pro Choice.

There, i did it, and all i had to do was look at the last president we had.

And you and I have very different opinions on many issues, so I'm trying to not butt heads with you over our difference in views.

Most of the immigrants coming from Mexico cross in places where there is a significant physical boundary such as a river or a fence. They will still find a way across.

No illegal immigrants do own and rent houses. They do collect welfare, they do drive cars and have drivers license.

Live with people they know? You just proved to everyone who is reading this forum that you are a 15 year old kid.

Ya Jose just crashes on Ferda's couch. Ha

Every state has its own statute about how they feel about abortion and just because the president may be against abortion the state in which that person lives comes up with whatever choice they feel is right through the state government.

Obama is a liberal, as am I. I don't really think he'll put us farther in debt. just beacsue he's a liberal. Clinton was a liberal and brought us out of debt, and with the amount of debt we have now, I think any president would have to try and bring us out of debt somewhat.

Do NOT put Obama anywhere NEAR the neo cons, or label him as Pro War. Saying that is pure ignorance.

yea because funding the war, supporting israel, and siding with the scum of the earth joe lieberman who is a huge zionist on the iran issue is not being pro war. you are blind. he is pretty close to being as bad as the people you hate but his smile hides it.

I'll just respond by saying I happen to not be a fool who thinks the Israel issue is black and white, and I'll mention I have a friend who has lived there her whole life and I happen to support her and her family and the country, so I'm not going to argue about this.

you are wrong about a couple things. his 2.4 mill is ALL from donations from supporters. 0 is from any lobbyist group

stevie ray vaughn was from texas, bill hicks was from texas. there are alot of really cool people from texas that is no reason to dismiss him.

As i said, I'm not getting into it. There is a lot more to it than that, and as I said, it's not a black and white issue, and I don't support them 100%, but I DO support most of what they do.

Back to the issue, RP would be the best republican candidate in my mind, but I'm a liberal and would much rather see my values reflected in our president.

if I had an issrali friend I would be for spending money that went to keeping a bunch of people that wanted to kill all jews out of their house.

Ya Wrong word choice. I meant something more like "home land orientated" or "not world police" not isolationist in the sense as it was used during WWII

I'm pretty sure OBAMA is the only presidential candidate who had a chance to vote and voted AGAINST the war in Iraq. In fact only 23 senators had the sack to against the war and he was one of them.
