The trick freesking is based on

In my opinion the whole freesking started with spins and all the other tricks are still related to spins

Honoestly i never had thought about something like this. But im writing a trick tip section and i wanted to say something about spins. So thats how i realised it. Just wanted to share it and get some reactions if i was right or not.

this is good actually i like this... anyways i wouldnt go with spins, because really everything starts with the ability to catch airtime, which in itself is the most basic trick. Think about little kids in the park going off jumps, their main goal is just to catch air, what you can do in the air and what you can do between airtimes such as rails and stalls is all secondary. Maybe im being a bit too insightful?

no im going to have to agree with you. Your not going to try anything until you first learn how to straight air. once someone is comfortable popping off and landing, then they wil go to grabs, then spins, etc. but it all starts with the air.

yo there has been freestyle(flips and spins) for like 40 years... people have been leaving the snow for longer than that, freeskiing started with grabs

The fact some ppl cant even bring one good thing to this says enough.

I agree with you that it all started with jumps. But if you leave jumping as a trick i think you stay with spins

we don't bring things to this because it is a stupid thread. freeskiing isn't based off of one thing. it started with skiing, and people wanted to have some fun, and tried new things. that is how things are like today, and it is still happenning today. it wan't that long ago that it was unheard of for skiers to slide rails.

freeskiing is based on style

people have been doing jumps in racing forever

people have been spinning in ariels forever

but not since freeskiing, has there been style
