Whats everyone doing getting their bod ready for banging slus for the summer?

Anyone going on some crazy crash diets or doing some crazy workouts turning the beer belly into a sex pack.

No sir. I'm pretty skinny so I automatically end up looking in-shape once Summer comes around and I start actually doing stuff that involves moving...

i hate gyms with a passion and never step foot in them (mostly because if im running or anything, i do it barefoot and thats not allowed in most gyms) but i hike 3-4 times a week, rock climb a butt-ton, and ive just started doing push ups and sit ups daily.

May I introduce you to the friendly tapeworm? He will have you trimmed down and looking fantastic in no time! Sayy "goodbye" to that beer belly and "hello" to eating what you want, when you want.

My goals to have a six pack and be benching 300lbs by june I'm only 5' 6'' though. Benching 275lbs as of now and almost have the six pack!

"Am i the only one that has had their summer body ready since early spring?" - Tosh

But really my six pack is on full blast and ready to present to all the babes on the beach. And im pumpin up my Bi's and ready to ask which way my beach ball went.....if u kno wat i mean.

haha pathetic people trying to get "summer bods" starting now. Got news for you bro...it aint happenig. It takes enormous amount of time for your body to change through lifting and working out. If yo started now you won't see good results if any until minimum the end of the summer. A beach bod is a year long commitment. Gotta hit the gym atleast 4 days a week

Haha im alright, I weigh like 160 and my shoulders are pretty much wider then I am tall. I dont really play any sports and I'm a senior in highschool so I just go to the gym everyday after school and lift. Been doing that for the last year and a half. I'd post a picture but that'd get a lot of hate haha.

Prolly because you're full of shit.

I'm well on my way to being in really good shape. Ideally I'd like to lose another 20 pounds but that might be tougher than losing the 20 pounds I've lost in the past 2 months. All from diet and running 5 times a week.

i have a pretty constant 6 pack from being thin form cross country skiing and running and working out a little (30 sit ups, 20 push ups a night) keeps me in great shape

you can tell people who work out to get girls and people who work out to perform better.

athletes dont work their arms, for example the broncos strength and conditioning coaches never work their athletes arms since that isnt needed to perform, they do not do a lot of olympic lifts either and they never clean!

they do a lot of fast and explosive movements to work their core chest and legs, since most of your strength comes out of your core. when you hit someone that force comes out of your chest not your arms.

but i do enjoy working my arms every now and then, but it is pretty much useless except for looks.

that's damn impressive though

i'm 5'5" and i hit the gym as much as possible considering i do a sport every season and then train for all three over the summer.

i literally have never bench pressed in my entire life though... of course i do crazy chest workouts but i've never benched, i don't really feel it enough in my chest.

any tips on form to make me really feel it?

fuck going to the gym and just lifting weights, its all about rowing, gets you in the best shape youll ever be in if you train competitively, adn you dont look like a jabroni.

I'm super down for physical exercise in the form of a fun activity or something in nature but sitting in a gym and doing the same thing over and over again or running on a little strip of moving rubber is like your fucking prometheus or some shit, un-natural as fuck go climb a mountain or lift rocks or chop and carry firewood or something

been going to the gym 3 days a week, and recently have gotten about 100 push-ups and 100 pike-ups on the off days. skiing has been a big part of my activities in the last few months. today got a little less push-ups to give it a rest for another work out tomorrow, but did 100 pike-ups this morning and another 100 a little while ago. also been really concentrating on my diet, today it consisted of:

cream of wheat with bacon

3 eggs

power bar

shepards pie

big bowl of cereal

broccoli beef dinner

seconds on dinner plus a banana

emergency, milk, or water throughout the day

pretty consistently going up 2-5 lbs on every work out whenever im at the gym

nothing major. Just laying off soda and drinking water, all the normal mini dieting stuff. I'm in decent shape and hate working out so i just avoid that all together.

how much water you drinking throughout the day? I've been trying to down like a gallon, really hard to do with school though.

i do agree with most of your statements. but cleans and any olympic lift for that matter, whether power or full, are fast, explopsive, powerful movements.

and cleans, i believe, are popular in football weightlifting programs.

the reason our strength coach said they dont do them is because they get so many guys in the summer for the practice squad that some know how to clean and some dont, so they dont want to waste time teaching when they could be getting stronger.

at both high schools i was at, i was taught to do cleans, both strength coaches did it a little differently though.

cleaning is probably my favorite movement, it works about every muscle which is why i like to do that as my first movement in a workout since it gets everything activated.

i used to do 2 gallons, now i cut it down to about a gallon and a half, its really not hard to drink a gallon at all, and yes it takes more than just starting now to get a "beach bod" ive been lifting since i was around 15-16 and im 22 now, and im close to where id like to be, but not just yet, diet has more than u think to get in shape and look better, its not just all about throwing around weights....cardio to burn off the fat from the muscle, spot reduction exercises will NOT do that as much as u think it might...and please for gods sake do not put a ton of weight on the bar in ANY exercies, ur going to end up either 1. hurt urself. 2. look like an idiot, 3. do half reps or 4. all of the above, ur cheating urself trying to do so much weight and not doing an exercise in ur full ROM, lighten the weight and perform the rep properly, and u will see results quicker

Meh I hate the gym. I'll just stop drinking so much beer and start riding my bike a lot and maybe doing some pushups or something.

yeah man, drinking a lot is a pain when you have to get up to pee in class a bunch. what specifically does the amount of water you have a day effect? besides hydration of course. I probably drink about 5 water bottles a day

I have a good six pack and pecs for being 16, but I'm only 5'6" and 140 lbs, I look like I should weigh like 160 though... i dunno why.

Stfu childs play i highly doubt you bench 275.

Even if you do..im willing to bet you dont have a 6 pack. Wats your BF %?

P.S. im buffer than you.

P.S. this type of thread pops up at least once a week in NSG

I'm generally in pretty good shape - a few days in a row of eating really well and plenty of cardio, and I'm down for a bikini. I'll do some circuit weights for tone, boulder, use my bike instead of the car, run up Mt Tabor steps, or some kind of combination.

Gym's are good if you know what to do with it and train properly to get specific results.
