The Stoked Thread

so im living alone and bored and i hooked up online play for the ps2 and now im playing Tony hawk with a dude from orgeon and a guy from norway....how fucked...
 
Fuck yeah. Just got myself an apartment in Portland.

1400 sf. 3 bedroom. New hardwood floors, new stove, just painted, 2nd floor, cat friendly, 2 decently looking chick roommates....

And most of all, I am stoked as hell on the location. For you Portland kids, it is located in Kings Hill, 1 block south of Burnside and across the street from NW 22nd. So 21st/23rd are a few blocks, PGE park 3 blocks east, pearl/downtown not that far at all. About 12 blocks to Powell's and that area.

I think I will have it by the 15th, but I am in Tacoma until the end of June making skis basically full time.....but should be truly moved down there by July 1st.

 
My older brother and I have been exchanging emails back and forth. This is a big deal to me, since we NEVER talk. We were never that brother and sister who were tight as hell. We disliked each other a bit because we were so different. Things have changed though, and that makes me happy :)

 
Dude I didnt even know you had a brother. Where have I been? And congrats on talking and whatnot. It took my brother and I a bit to get to that stage too
 
Haha yes actually my older brother Joe is 26, single, no kids. Very good looking. I should know, we look alike :P

....but he lives in Cali. Another reason for you to head out west!! He's a chef too, and a good one at that.
 
I think I am finally get my money back from the douchebag who tried to scam me out of $300. Read the "I got scammed here in Gear Swap by Jesse Jones" thread on TGR. Also now cross posted in Non-Ski Gabber. The guy gets fucked. Shows how NOT anonymous you really are on the internet. And this is coming from regular-type people, not law-enforcement types. I've got to say, very very Stoked on the TGR community right now.
 
Conundrum has a lot more sympathy than I do, that's for sure. If someone did that to me I'd be doing everything in my power to make their life miserable.

So the restaurant has been stacking up on the empty bottles of the water they serve for the past two years. 115 cases total. Today, one worker and I took those cases to a discount beer store in a small U-haul. We got paid our hourly wage, and got to keep the money. Left with 50 bucks a piece. Not bad for two hours work.

Stoked on the first beach trip of the season this weekend. Looks kinda on and off pissy for the weather but I don't mind fishing in the rain. Had any luck fishing down there lately Papa????

Rented a car and staying a night in Clearwater FL right at the beach. This is a much better part of tampa then where I waS the last few days
 
I think I ruined myself for concerts last night. It was a small venue with maybe 500 people in it, and what might be the best progressive metal band around right now (certainly my favorite). The set list was awesome and tickets were only $22, and I really can't think of any way the night could have been better aside from not sleeping in my car in the woods when it's freezing out. The only downers at the show were the moshers and a flock of gothopotomi, but those can both be expected at a metal show.

I also found a pretty nice place to stay at for the summer that's two blocks from the gondola at Silver, I'm just waiting to hear back from the landlord to see if I can get it.
 
So I think I just solved my noise problem upstairs. A kid I've known since he was a little boy, came over today to try out my longboard. And Evan (the boy upstairs) was with him. Smoked a joint with them, probably shouldn't have. But Mike's like a little brother to me. Anyway, through casual conversation I found out that Evan basically has a really shitty father. And he's a really chill kid. Found out his bedroom is right above me, and his kitchen above my sons room. I talked to him quickly about how when I bang my broom, it's because he's being loud at 11:30 at night. To take his shoes off and walk quieter. And he totally understood. So, stoked on that.

And Ryan! So teaching this kid to ride on my longboard was really fucking cool. It was just as easy as teaching snowboarding, and Mike was stoked he could learn so quick. I wish I could teach it somewhere, haha.

thanks, although i'm not stoked on 22, but i am extremely hung over right now as my friends found it necessary to make me celebrate my last 2 hours of being 21 in the way of forcing about 10 drinks down my throat in said 2 hours, ughhhh
