well, my share is 500 but it includes heat hot water and air conditioning, but i think i'm getting raped cause the place is not all that large or nice,it was just convenient for school, which i'm not in anymore so i shall be looking for a new casa come the end of may
 
comparing rents doesn't really make that much sense. people live in too many different places. $1400 for a 700 sq.ft. place downtown vancouver is reasonable, but would be insanely high in many places, and insanely low in New York.

Hell, town to town it can vary so immensely even if both neighborhoods are nice.
 
calgary apparently has the highest rent in the country. it's crazy hard to find a nice place for a decent price. my roomates and I have a 3 bedroom place in a sweet neighbourhood close to downtown. our rent is 1600 plus utils and for the size of our place that's a wicked deal. I have to move (AGAIN) in may, so far I havent found anything I would even consider.
 
Really? I wouldn't think Calgary would have anywhere near the highest rent in the country. Downtown Van, renting ANYTHING outright for under 1000/mo is just unheard of. Even small studios are 1100+.
 
So thursday I went to Teton Pass with my sister, her boyfriend, and three rippin' tele ladies and skied 8-10" of new snow while it dumped all day. Then yesterday we woke up to another 18" on top of it and skied Jackson Hole all day, which was the best day I've had all year bar none. I still had to take it easy on the knee and restrain myself, but I was able to do a fun air to straightline through some cliffs and drop in to Corbet's. Then today I went to some crazy ass mountain by Ennis (Pennis, Anus) and skinned up there. The snow sucked major balls, but the weather was nice and one of my dad's friends brought his daughter so it was a pretty good day. Now I hurt.

i smoked some dank ass cali shit last night then a j of some shit my uncle gave me. i was fucked up but at the same time i was a guitar hero! haha im stepping mygame up every day!
 
just got word the boys are coming home tomorrow morning around 11ish!!! so fuckin stoked. got my flight through us air cancelled and ill be rolling in around mid afternoon tuesday since we all gotta party tomorrow night.
 
I know it sounds crazy. I know how much some places can be in vancouver too. but the article I read was talking about the average. so the average price in calgary of a 2 bedroom apartment is higher than the average 2 bed in all of vancouver. It still kind of surprises me because as far as I know everywhere in the city of vancouver itself is pretty pricey. but then again so is calgary...

anyways. just got back from an amazing day at sunshine. wasn't expecting any snow but it blizzarded on the way up. then became bluebird. such a fun day.
 
My mountains projected closing date is 4/20.

What a perfect way to end a good season. On 4/20 blaaaaazed outta my mind. I love it.
 
So I've been looking through my mountaineering book a lot lately and decided I want to do this run in the Beartooth Range called The Patriarch. It comes off near the summit of Glacier Peak by Cooke City, MT, and is basically just radness to the max. I really doubt I'll have time to try it this summer, but I'd definitely love to do some non-technical ski mountaineering in that area sometime.

Hey, it flattens out to 45 degrees for the bottom half....and it's only 60 for the first 1,000 vert. It's a line I really want to ski, but I really need about a week to do it with how long the approach is and how, uhhhh...interesting...the weather gets up there. I have my work schedule set up to ride Moab for a week after school's out and backpack for a week before school, but I'd have to sacrifice one of those to give this a shot. I'd want to be up there late May-mid June so the runout and weather would be ok, although there's snow in the chutes year-round most years. This is probably just a dream of mine that will never happen, and there's about a million other couloirs in the range that are far more accessible--but not as glorious!

toured fort bragg today for about 4 hrs w/my brothers best friend steve as my guide. he was once in my brothers unit but broke his back on a jump and was discharged. anyhoo i have a whole new found respect for these guys and girls...not that i didnt before, but now its totally different. to say this "fort" is huge is a complete understatement. they have everything you can possibly think of. they're own hospital, grocery stores, bars, restaurants, furniture stores, etc. Its basically its own community with a lot of cool shit mixed in. Its just a whole nother world. Im still so dumbfounded by what I experienced today that know matter how much I try to explain this to you, it will do it no justice whatsoever.

Heading over to Killington in a short bit for the afternoon. The fiancee has the big job interview, and we are stopping at Townhouse style apartments to check out and they are a really good deal for around here. 2 bedroom, on site laundry, $715 ALL utilities included. Newer build in a quiet area of town.
 
Just took the kids clothes shopping. Got a lot of stuff for minimal $$. Also happy about some new bra and panties I got. It was time for an update.

And because it was so much cheaper than I thought...I almost bought a new camera. Glad I overcame that one.
 
I just turned in a 16 page research proposal for Bio 402 and took my final for 402. Thats it. ONE MORE CLASS HERE AT UW! TWO WEEKS OFF!!! ONE WEEK OF SLUG, THEN DEATH VALLEY, VEGAS, MOAB WOOOOO!
 
An older friend of mine was telling me how he was going to this "Game" party. As in, animals that are hunter, then cooked to perfection. He said these people are chefs, and can do something amazing things. So I asked him to bring me a doggy bag. I just had a lunch filled with crab, salmon, caribou, elk, venison & bear. Sided with some kick as asparagus. Fuckin yum yo.
 
Game dinners are the shit. I'll eat anything that was wild. Hell I'll eat just about anything actually.

How did you like the bear and what was it made into??
 
Honestly I didn't quite know which was which. I mean, I obviously knew what the salmon and crab were, and the venison since I'd had it before. But to tell the difference between the elk, caribou and bear, was kinda hard. I'm going to assume the bear were these almost hamburger like patties, with just some spices and green pepper thrown in. I assume it was the bear, because it was a bit more flavorful, a little more harsh. I added some mozz cheese on top of that, but even before that it was super good.

And whichever between the caribou and elk, both were sooooooo fucking good. I want a whole lunch. These were only tastings. I need to go to a game dinner now.
 
I have a related story about a 'game' themed party. At Seattle University a few weeks ago, there was a theme party, where the guys dressed up as hunters and the girls dressed up like animals. The official name for the party, via facebook, was "SU Cunt Hunt". Needless to say, someone spewed the info, school admin got wind of it (this is a Jesuit school too) and shut down the party by putting the leaders on probation. The reason I know about it - they enlisted their own psych department to make a survey to try and figure out 'how something this terrible could happen', and my friend had to get me to fill one out to complete her homework.
 
So stoked on this girl I met last night. Her name is Kelly. There was a party at a sushi bar for St. Patty's day, and she came up to me thinking I was someone else on accident. She said I was hot anyway and we started talking. This girl is so insanely cool. Best personality ever. Snowboarder chick, really really REALLY hot. Way out of my league. She seems to be real into me, regardless. I find out she's 25. She finds out I'm 20. She laughs and makes jokes about me being a "little boy", but wants to sit on my lap and kiss me anyway. We didn't talk to anyone but each other the entire night. I even danced with her. I hate dancing, but this was fun. I walk her home and on the way her friend calls her. She can't even answer it because the touch screen on her iphone doesn't work at all. So since her phone is broken, when I ask her for her phone number later she says "if you want to see me again, come find me. This is a small town." and smiles. So, I'm on a mission. I know where she works and I'm doing to drop in right now after I pick up my new boots from work. Hopefully she's working. Wish me luck.
