The Stoked Thread

It's 4:39 am, and I am leaving in 21 minutes for Mt. Snow.

Stoked! Maybe I'll be seeing ya later Ajay! Depends on the friends.

I was looking at this building mostly for ideas:

I'm really happy with how it turned out, I think I should get a pretty good grade on it.

I love the eyes.

Saturday - Friday house in Stowe then down to Mt Snow Friday - Sunday. Yaaaaah vacation

This project was more about the aesthetic and sculptural qualities of a building---I think. I know I about got beat down when I mentioned making room for stairs or an elevator in the center. But my professor still wanted people in it to give a sense of scale.

yea, that's pretty sick.

I didn't really get any good ideas for this project, and that kind of hurt me maybe, I definitely didn't feel as good about this one as the last project, but Will and Tad seemed to like it, so I guess I did okay.

That's pretty much the opposite of where I was. I had to really slim down all the ideas that I had for this one and felt really good about it, but the light museum never really clicked for me. I still got a 3.0 on it, but I never got into the project.

In other stoked news, I just checked out the place I'm going backcountry skiing tomorrow (Mt. Blackmore). We usually just ski it in the fall and spring, but they plowed the road this year so I can brawl up there now. At 6,800' there's 40" of snow, at the parking lot the snowbanks are as tall as my car, and at 8,100' there's 82" of snow. Weather and stability permitting, we'll be going up around 10,500'. This is going to be sweet.

12-24 forecasted by sunday morning.

Sweet.

Not stoked about the 40+ mph winds tomorrow that will make the drive to the hill an absolute nightmare, but once there, it shall be epic.

Im stoked...got 90% on my regional economic geography mid term...woo...dunno how the hell that happened

I went to a eurotrash-themed party last night and got reeeeallly hammered. Enough to where I was wearing the clothes of a girl about a foot shorter than me. But she also happens to work at a place with good beer and now I can go there and buy when she's working, so it's all ok.

And I'm fucking hung over.

One of the instructors (and older German lady, I'd say she's about 60) came up to me and said she had something for me, and handed me this old school matchbox. Which triggered a memory of a few years ago when I had helped her out on some progression in her riding. She had given me some of her homegrown weed to say thank you. In an old matchbox. So I looked up at her and she said, "You know what this is?" in her thick German accent. I said yeah, I think so. And she thanked me for the powder day last week where I took her into the woods. And then she said, "A tree for a tree" which cracked me up.

Lets see now. Head oysters for dinner the other night, went home yesterday and brewed some Mac and Jack's clone with my dad (good father/son activity, homebrewing), and got wasted last night at a German bar up the road from my house, where me and three other friends got DAS BOOT (2 liters of Spaten Oktoberfest, mmmmm), and to top it all off, I wasnt hung over this morning for work. I think I'm gonna go take a nap now tho.

just had a dope ass lebanese four course meal, fucking sooooooooo bomb, lamb chops and everything sooo fucking good dear god.

About a foot and a half of new snow.

Just ordered a pair of Oakley Crowbars, carbon fiber with black iridium lens.

My A-frames were about 7 years old now, and were getting pretty beat. There was some unremovable residue on the inside, and the foam was breaking down bigtime. I LOVE the fit of the Crowbars, and am stoked.

I went out backcountry skiing for the first time since mid-december, and it was one of the most beautiful days I have ever had skiing. It was a little on the warm side, but the sun was out all day and there was just a little breeze at the top at 10,500'. We were also the only ones in that drainage today, so we got to slay every line in sight without any worry. Boner city!

I have a few more up in my gallery, if you click them they get MASSIVE.

asshole

on a second note, you probably should not enter into a committed relationship yet, give it some time, take it slow, test the waters of course, and feel free to sleep around, after all you just got out of a what? 4 or 5 month relationship? while that is not long at all, you should probably have some fun with some floozies before getting into another serious relationship, but feel free to begin sexual relations as soon as you'd like

OH well then yes! begin the fuck fest! however, if you don't wanna find out about your ex fucking other dudes, i highly suggest you keep it on the DL

Awesome weekend. 51cm of snow fell split between friday and saturday nights. nothing like waking up to a fresh blanket each morning. Decided to not go to jay cause of their forecast and do some local stuff. Spent saturday at a little unknown hill outside town with 5 employees, 6 runs and a home made t-bar. So much fun just screwing around, doing some great bushwhacking for knee deep fluff, and even having the patrol ask us to go for a second run out in the closed area so they could film since noone ever rips it up like we were. Sunday after everyone else got themselves dug out we tried out some of the hills we work at. First one was fully tracked out by the time we got there at 10 so we headed off to my hill. Skied all the stupid little tree and drop lines we used to do as highschool kids since theres never enough snow for them until now. Everyone had a blast. Oh...and my snowboarding girlfriend skied all weekend and loved it!

Bah, this PH congregation ski thing thats happening on the East is getting me down. Drew, would you be seriously interested meeting up at Hood for a few days this summer with Patty and I? We both have never been there, no idea where to stay or how it works. Also, would anyone else be interested in some summer skiing out West?

i may potentially be doing some summer skiing out west this year, so don't fret! pleanty of ajay to go around!

haha. Thats the girlfriends Honda Fit, we were using my Pathfinder all weekend with this weather.

For its size its actually surprisingly roomy (can fit 2 kayaks in the back) and good winter tires makes it a decent winter vehicle as long as there isn't too deep of a snow build up.

So my mom told me she thought it was a joke for a few hours. Weirdo...she's really surprised it's true. And she said bye-bye resort (her opinion, of course).

$130 us for shipping and insurance, got em from backcountry.com. so all up cost me $480 nz which im very happy with, a shop in town is selling ex rentals for $650

stoked cause i got them today, sitting in my car waiting til i get home to open them up, also i didn't get charged duty and tax on them haha so stoked about that! i can probably get new goggles too now
