In 30 years or so we will be able to directly interface with the human brain and reach another step of evolution. I have lost myself in thinking many times about this subject.
A direct interface to your visual cortex would give you a real time heads up display, anything could be on there from movies to velocity of objects, infrared and radar sensors interacting with our brains would give us a real time layout of a room in 3d effectively letting us see behind us. You could communicate instantly to anyone on the planet non verbally using a wifi interface. You would have instant access to the entirety of human knowledge at any time.
Awesome, the thing to realize is that we will be regaining our humanity, not loosing it, you will be able to break yourself free from computers and sitting at a desk. It is going to be awesome times.
