The searchbar still needs to be fixed, please...

We have had the flawed searchbar for a while now. I really feel like it should be top priority to be fixed. Having it search for any of the words entered, instead of all of the words, is literally useless (as we all know by now). There actually is some good info on this site, especially in the M&Arts and Gear Talk forums, and it is nearly impossible to find it. I am just bringing this problem to the top again to let you guys know that it is still a frustration for us, and we hope you are planning on tweaking it.

guys, as a temperary fix u can use: sitesearch:www.newschoolers.com in the google bar and find what ur lookin for

There is an incredible amount of skiing content on Newschoolers that is essentially lost because the searchbar isn't very effective. If nothing else, bring back the google search function in the next NS upgrade. Adding an advanced search link with a few searching options would be great. Most NSers just don't know the google search operators to efficiently search through past content on NS.

instead of using the NS searchbar just type into your google searchbar...
thread name or subject your searching site: newschoolers
for example
faunt got bigger site: newschoolers
or
how to get to chads gap from alta site: newschoolers

I think one thing that would make the searchbar 10x better would be to narrow which forum you want to search in. If you know the thread you're looking for is in gear talk, then why search ALL the forums. Surprised this wasn't implemented from the get go.

I offered to rewrite the NS search a while back for free. Talked to bishop about it a little but they never gave me the ok. Its really not that hard to write decent search queries... o well, i font have the time anymore even if i was asked to do it.
