The saddest/most depressing movies ever made

i went to a catholic (private) school till 8th grade and we did a "living stations of the cross" in 8th grade. it was pretty intense and emotional

Land Before Time (poor littlefoot)

Donnie Darko really opened my eyes about life. I don't want to get into it cause that would take a 500 word essay or more, but it explains how religion is void and how we are all alone.

-yeah land before time is sad as fuck seriously

-one flew over the cuckoo's nest

-its a wonderfull life

-deer hunter

-forrest gump

-the thin red line

-the patriot(both his sons die, then when all the people burn to death, so sad)

-finding neverland, mabye

-butch cassidy and the sundance kid, not a sad movie but since they are so damn cool then die in the end that makes me want to cry.

-gladiator cause his family gets killed

-big fish

-walk the line

-empire of the sun, just a good movie and really sad

-the ballad of cable hogue (fucking best movie ever!!!!)

-the champ

-titanic MABYE

-cool hand luke

taki driver

i cried during Brokeback mountain but im sure there are sadder movies out there i just dont like watching them

seize the day none of you have probly heard of it. its got robin williams in it. the whole movie is depressing, and there's no protagonist redemption at the end.

i actually change my votes to one flew over the cuckoos nest and shawshank redemption. those two movies really made me question some things and re-evaluate how i live my life/ and they are depressing as hell

On the beach, it was an Australian movie about radiation coming down from a nuclear war in the northern hemisphere, basically just shows society crumbling slowly and everyone either dying slow painful deaths or commiting suicide. I would never watch the last twenty minutes of this film again.

quite depressing.

but the saddest movie ever, i'd have to say Stepmom. ive never cried because of a movie but damn, this one, i can't even like talk about it without tearing up.

I HATE that movie. Rediculously long follow cams, then two 14 year old boys make out in the shower, then they shoot people for 10 minutes, then it ends.

This thread opened my eyes that some of my favorite movies are depressing movies.

Shawshank Redemption

Donnie Darko

Blow

Big Fish

Secondhand Lions

does that mean that im a depressed kid?

I dont think One Flew Over The Cukoos Nest was really sad. At least the book wasnt, I havent seen the movie. I think Menace II Society is rather sad.

i remember some movie, simon birch, or something like that, i watched with my mom wen i was younger, that was sad...

but for pure depressing, requiem for a dream flat out... wen it ended i felt like i had been punched in the gut, repeatedly

lion king, and whats that movie where you do a good deed and then the next person does 3 good deeds and so on and then the kid that started it all gets stabbed? that shits depressing
