The Roots!

fuck yeah it was. that shit got crazy, all those people climbing up on the top of that vip pavillion, and the show was insanely good. we had an awesome spot and got to see the whole thing head on.
 
i was literally directly behind the sound techs, and when everyone started climbing to the top of the pavillion, the security and undercovers came running over and trying to pull people down, and the sound guy started yelling at the cops to knock it off otherwise their tent was going to fall on the equipment. he was right in their face, it was pretty funny.

i dont know if everyone noticed this, but towards the end when the band was making all those broad gestures and not playing anything (?uestlove was waving his cymbols around and stuff) the sound board actually lost power for a few minutes due to all the shenanagins. then when he said "can you all hear me" that was right after the sound came back on. it was pretty crazy.

and one of my buddys scored a drum stick, haha it was cool

i liked the fact that it was in such a small setting. yeah, it was asspacked, but it was really cool to be able to be anywhere in the gc and not really experience a shitty show.

plus, it was an awesome setting for a show, outside right downtown in the middle of all those tall buildings.
