The rise of disability in America

That article made me so angry. Absolutely pathetic, in the current state of the economy, that we allow these pathetic scums to mooch off the governemnt. While there certainly are plenty of people who actually need this disability paycheck, the ones who mooch off the gov't with this fake bullshit is just rediculous. Its fucking sad that these are the people who can vote in this country and are bringing it down. Just keep voting democrat people lets hand out all the money to the poor scum of this country.
 
Well like the article informs that people seem to be on it with no actually disability. People are just getting on the tit so they can live life as easy.
 
This infuriates me as well. This makes our country look weak and extremely lazy. Blood pressure and diabetes cannot be classified as a disability.

 
I have no sympathy for fat people. I definitely don't consider being fat a disability and I think if you are obese you should not be allowed free health care.
 
kinda ironic how all the "southern" right wing states are the ones with the highest percentage of disability claims.
 
13% of our population is black, so no, they alone didn't elect Obama. Yes its racist to assume that black people want handouts.

Also this started before Obama.

And I think its hilarious how quickly this thread devolves into handouts vs no handouts, instead of the issues that really should be discussed here.
 
Its a cultural issue and nothing else. People have moved away from working their asses off their whole lives to get that american dream to looking for the easiest way out. Its not a black, white, or brown issue.. its a cultural issue
 
You could argue that in the absence of jobs for people without degrees, this is a natural outcome of having such a deregulated social security and disability network.

And it is very ironic that red states use more 'socialist' services per capita and still vote for a party that wants to abolish said socialism.
 
Thats precisely what I was trying to point out, blue collar jobs vanish left and right, and middle aged folks often cannot feasibly go back to school to get the degree necessary for other positions, not to mention would struggle to be hired anyways. What other option do they have?
 
i cant stand it when people are milking the system, i work in a semiconductor plant with somany old fat fucks. there all burnouts that endup going on disability or get to leave work eairly. all of them are getting the same wage as me and durring our work day they dont do shit.

one of the guys i work with has a few rental properties and he keeps complaning about these people hes trying to evict, they dont do shit. and they get all 1400$ of their rent paied from dissability by the govt. he says they look and act fine and their dissablility is a mental thing and thats why they wont work.

so much bullshit. so many shitty people. everyone getseverythng handed to themthese days and its bringin up shittyerpeople by theday.

i also hate fatfucks. fat people are more uninteligent than normal people
 
I know a person who is on mental disability because one of their cousins got shot at once. They were not there, didn't see it or anything nor was the cousin actually hit. I mean what the fuck?! I know people who have been actually shot and are fine and out working right now. The system needs to tell people to fuck off and make something of themselves. Stop coddling the weak, this shit is embarassing.
 
Community support is a form of natural selection. You aren't defending what is natural, you are saying you want people to die. Many species work together as a community to support each other; this is real survival of the fittest because it allows for even more genes to be passed on. Working for the individual in a species such as humans does not allow for as many offspring so what is 'natural' would be supporting people with disabilities.

As well, I would like to say that pretty much all of us aren't able to exist without external help, or community infrastructure. For some reason though we assign one group of people as disabled and argue over what we should do with their lives and what we should provide for them. Fuck that. I do agree that it sucks if people are cheating the system but I just wanted to point out the things above because I think there is some significantly flawed thinking around these issues.

IT PISSES ME OFF REALLY BAD PEOPLE WHO GET DISABILITY BY LYING!!! I had SPINAL MENINGITIS last year and was in a WHEELCHAIR for 8 months and had to learn how to walk again and actually NEEDED disability. I am only 22 and didn't have enough work credits for social security disability but I get SSI and I barely get by on 710 a month. Still learning to walk again and have to use a catheter. But thank god for SSI or I would have been at the shelter.
 
Oh, you mean that thing that doesn't actually happen naturally?

Natural selection =/= not helping the ones that can't help themselves. AT ALL. Helping members of community is a survival strategy in many species; ants, squirrels, humans.. that allows for the species to survive. Natural selection is not about individuals, but about the species. This isn't some new human thing but an extremely common survival mechanism millions of years old.

Also you're pretty short sighted if you think you can help yourself... good luck trying to make tools and groceries without support from a larger community...

But if you want to justify treating people like shit by short sighted and inaccurate ideas of the way things are supposed to be no matter what I say I can't help you.

Also a large number of your friends and relatives would be dead if you went by your rule of natural selection - ohp, that person has diabetes, well, they can't make medicine for it so fuck them..
