THE review of X by PBP

Hello, here is an indepth review of X; the newest jib flick from PBP.

PBP intro color - Clear-ish

Old school intro - awesome seeing highlights throughtout the years, but a little on the short side...which is understandable

Hardcore intro - fantastic. gets you really amped for the film.

Anthony Boronowski - Overall good segment, a good opener. Techno-ish/hip hop music flows really well the flow of the segment. The booter toward the end of the seg was friggin' insane.

Peter Olenick - Opening is awesome, def. a highlight of the film. Good seg, strangely the music flows kinda well. insane rail skills.

TJ Shiller - Boy's got skills. The super high rail was crazy, like 20 ft tall rail. Good tricks and clean style.

Kristi Crash - Made me pissed, after her seg opening in 1242

Sage Cattabriga-Alosa - Chad's gap, deeeep pow, switch pow landings. great seg.

Kristi Leskinen/Grete Eliassen - Kristi has so much more style now, I didn't think I would see a female do a switch up on a rail for a while. Grete has such smooth style and is so progressive.

Vincent Dorion/Nikalas Karlstrom - In my mind, I think Vinnie could still compete and podium. He has all the skills of the younger kids, and that 540 he did on that step up was huge! Nikalas has mad style, another great Swedish product.

Boyd Easley - Awesome segment! you HAVE to watch it!

DC/CB4/Szocs/Treadway/Candide - Dave destroys an Aspen/Snowmass rail...does about everything you can do on it. Chris shows off his style. Szocs does some good big mtn. riding. Treadway takes a gnarly fall off a huge cliff. Candide is insanely good at rails, among other things. Too bad it is short. The uphill rail is tight!

Henrik Winstedt - One of the better segments in my mind. Music was alright, but the skiing was really solid. Henrik can ski ANYTHING and make it look so good. He does a crazy 7 with a leading tip mute grab!

Simon Dumont - Probably the best segment on X. He skis a lot more than just urban and pipe, get a lot of BC hits in too. His 'no motion' 180s are ungodly smooth. A must see over and over again.

Mark Abma - Mark continues to destroy everything just like he did in Yearbook. Mark throws some really stylie tricks with plenty of BC. Another highlight of X.

Jon Olsson - Another great segment. I like having Jon cap off a video. I like how AFI's song fits with the segment. Jon and Sage are by far the most well rounded skiers showcased in X. Jon's crazy tip grabs are so stylish, it's rediculous.

Credits/Bonus Features/UP1 - The bonus features and UP1 are hilarious. Kinda like 'Wanna be a Rockstar' in 1242. The Cribs revisted is awesome too.

Overall Grade = A. Great job johnny and company!

i liked TJ's and Peter's part the best, they both had amazing style, and peter has an original intro

I really think this was the best PBP movie sence propaganda. The skiing is top knotch and they accually mix in some humorous stuff. I like the U1P and other extras. Over all a very good movie.

 
i loved olenick, good stuff. One thing, where the fuck were Pep and Boyd? Did they just not ski this year?

the delivery is ridiculous, it has been two weeks since its release, and i still dont have it, yet i saw it at the toronto ski show for sale, so what is the point of preordering it?

 


Anthony Boronowski - SICK different sytle music, but fits really good and cork 7 huge what!

Peter Olenick - 'I wish I was in a video game' Video game style. Really awsome editing and skiing by Olenick and PBP

TJ Shiller - All around sick. Does a lot of different tricks.

Kristi Crash - her crash made me laugh, I mean atleast she admits it was dumb.

Sage Cattabriga-Alosa - Awsome skier right there!

Kristi Leskinen/Grete Eliassen - Kristi doing her normal thing. Good 5s and 7s from her. Grete HOLY! did anyone catch her 270 on that Hip! and blindside 270 off that rail. Road Gap as well!

Vincent Dorion/Nikalas Karlstrom - vinnie does an awsome job, you may think its a normal vinne segment, but its got a little extra this year and Nikalas is awsome.

Boyd Easley - Awesome segment! goooo 80s

DC/CB4/Szocs/Treadway/Candide - DC and Candide had some good shots. The other stuff was good, but it was just to short for me to enjoy.

Henrik Winstedt - Ummm.. practically every trick in the book. In his seggy.

Simon Dumont - without a doubt the best song, and skiing is really good. Lots of BC which is sick. This kid is awsome.

Mark Abma - Highlight of X

Jon Olsson - Pretty much all BC. And a lot of switch takeoffs in these huge BC booters.

Credits/Bonus Features/UP1 - Chris O'Connell slideshow was good, Miami Vice was alright not to good, UP1 = Good

Overall Grade = I'll be watching this video over and over and over and over. Because you always notice new things.

 
i only prefer viewing pete, tj, simon, and abma's segs...i can't stand watching the rest of the movie. its good skiing, but just not fun to watch. jon's is almost all BC booters and i get real tired of watching it. bc booters are ill, but i wish he had some more stuff to give it some more flavor. i just didn't like the movie at all other then pete tj simon and abma. thanks.

said on the radio that if youre expecting any mail from the states it will arrive 4-6 weeks after shipment. apparently canada post is scanning everything that comes into the country. 4-6 weeks!?
