My aunt has always talked about it, how God is gonna come and judge us all, and play nice police on us. Apparently the world ends and all good Christians go to Heaven and the rest of us, well, go to Hell, of course. She is racist against most non-whites, and especially hates homosexuals. She implies that no matter how good your morals and ethics are, unless you are a devout Christian, you are going to burn and suffer in hell. Now, forget Christianity, because this extremism exists to any degree in any religion. The older generation lived simple lives, and nothing distracted them much from what they believed in. Now look today, it's a "religious shitstorm" all the time. What I'm saying is, you have the right to follow any religion, no one can change what you really think in your mind. Just don't be a jackass about it, don't go to the extremes. If we want to get along, we should stop pretending we are so different, stop preaching, and just try to be generally nice people because after all, we're gonna find out what's up or not when we die! I daresay God, assuming he exists, is gonna come judge us all and go "well you we're a good person all your life, a very good person and a selfless individual, in fact just like my son Jesus, BUT YOU WEREN'T TECHNICALLY DOIN' IT FOR ME SO YOU'RE GOIN' TO HELL ANYWAYS" k. I'm done.

the only thing I got out of that is the fact that you're delusional about your own beliefs. if you don't believe in the "extremist" catholic view, well then guess what? you're not catholic! its a set of ideas/beliefs that people had thousands of years ago, chances are you're going to adapt and have different beliefs, therefore you are no longer catholic...

and religion is stupid
