The Progression of Wachusett

i didnt go there this year but i heard that u tore down the park for a race.... thats not cool at all...and if u made a nice park then people will go to ur mtn a win win situation
 
not put up multiple broken boxes/rails. actually do work on the park instead of the liftys spending all their time checking park passes and building little jumps up top. get a park up before mid january so i have somewhere closer to ride over winter break.
 
saw two kids break their legs on their c box a few years back in the same night... None of the park staff had thought to sand the rust off that grew over the summer....
I dunno if it's still run like that, but last time I was there all the features were literally death traps.
 
they cant make parks with flow. it was so much more fun when they just packed a ton of shit into the trail. this year, they tried to make the park flow a little bit and had 2 jumps. bullshit.
 
agreed, i get that space is an issue but i'd rather them setup all their rails in a line going from the entrance to the bottom lift where the pipe used to be, i want more than 4 hits on a run
 
It's not allowed because it's State land and Old-Growth Forest. We can't really change that rule, and its also why the pipe was shut down and why there's a very slim chance of new trails being made (Vickory bowl was a huge, long fight with environmental people).

Though, to be honest, a lot of employees ski in the woods and down the back side. The woods between Upper Balance Rock and Roper's is thinned out and a ton of fun for what it is. Instructors usually won't say anything to you, and ski patrol have more important things to do than chase you through the woods. Watch out for the Rangers though (volunteers in neon orange), they tend to be strict about that kind of stuff. If you do choose to ski the woods, just make sure it's not blatantly right in front of us so we don't get in trouble.

Also: I'm not saying it's okay or that you won't get in trouble, just for the record. So don't come back all pissed if you get caught and someone temporarily pulled your pass.
 
rail garden under the chairlift where the pipe used to be. side by side jumps of different sizes. bring back the von zip handrail. file off some goddamn rust. more skier friendly feautres. some of the features can really only be hit by snowboarders
 
the thing is, i do think its more fun, they deffffinitely stepped it up this year, and next year will be even better
