yea actually there have been plans laid out to combine mexico, canada and US as a confederacy giving each nation less autonomy and sovereignty than EU member nations.
 
yes but there is no way that will be able to happen in the foreseeable future because the supporters of a north american union are a vast minority so there's really no reason to even acknowledge the idea because it poses no threat.

If Ron Paul doesn't win I am going to ask my parents to get me citizen ship in a small country for tax purposes for when I join the workforce. Hillary is going to tax us to death.
 
Ron Paul is just to libertarian to lead and run a country. Sure he might be the most honest guy in politics right now but he would be a bigger disaster then Jimmy Carter if elected. You need more then honesty in a president.
 
fuck, I spent an hour typing out reasons why he would be a bad president and hit reply only to find myself logged out.

In short he would see the downfall of avalible health care and education, along with a self sustaining and economically adept country in the 21st century.

Actually free or "socialized" healthcare would be one of the worst things to happen to this country. Privatized healthcare allows for ongoing innovation in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals. Ever since European countries have gotten rid of privatized healthcare they have lagged far behind the United States in quality of doctors(who will want to be a doctor, spend 8 years in med school if you wont get paid a high 6 fig salary?? Socialized healthcare would force doctors to take a huge pay cut) and in medical innovation. The reason things like the jarvik heat are able to come to fruition are because of pharmaceutical corporations investing their profits into new technologies.

The long lines, general unavailability, and watered down treatments of European and Canadian doctors have caused millions of those citizens to leave their respective countries to come to the US for medical treatment.

I'm not even going to get into the economic repercussions of what would be essentially putting millions of people in the industry out of jobs as well.( I guess they could live off the gov't like what about 8 percent of Europeans already do)

Also how do you propose we subsidize "free" or discounted healthcare? We're already spiraling down the path of bankruptcy with out of control gov't spending. Before you throw out these lofty pie in the sky idealistic goals of FREE HEALTHCARE, FREE ICE CREAM ON THURSDAYS, GOVT SUBSIDIZED WOOD STOCK MUSUEM remember that you will be shelling out extra from your disposable income and be contributing to the economic failure of America.

I would say the policies that have gotten us into the highest debt in

man's recorded history can be taken care of. Ron Paul actually has

solutions instead of the usual lies and more promised debt coming out

of our government these days.

Paul's economic policies as being "the only plan that recognizes our

So ya now you have an opinion from someone who you can't call out for being young and uneducated with no proof.
 
With privatization medical improvements would come to a stand still. One thing you are not looking at right now is the other side of the medical system. Right now there are government subsidies going to help in the creation and discovery of new treatments, under Ron Paul these would end, you could say good bye to any chance for and cure for Cancer or AIDS. If some one like Ron Paul had been elected at the start of the 20th century we would still be using century old health care practices. Oh, and there would be a good chance you did not live past age 10.

So If you want you children to have modern Health Care and live past age 10 don't vote for Ron Paul.
 
No. you are completely wrong. Look to Europe for proof.

A free market is the impetus for innovation. With out competition innovation goes stagnant.

Again, out of control gov't spending is a major factor to our current economic crisis, Gov't subsidies are a part of that. Leading research is funded by major pharmaceutical corporations such as Aventis, Pfizer, Eli Lily etc, who get their money from the consumer buying their products.

Ron Paul does not win a single state in the republican primaries.

But the leading research in cancer treatment and prevention is all government sponsored non for prophet groups like Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Oh, and If Ron Paul got his way a large proportion of kids would not get past first or second grade.
 
A vote for Ron Paul is a vote to increase the difference between the rich and the poor. You will see it get closer to the Golden Era (which was shit for 99% of the country) then it ever has before it might even go further.
 
NH primary he will probably win. The way NHs political landscape is he has a very good chance. West Virginia is looking good right now too.

If the republicans stick to their stubborn ways I hope that he runs independant.

Gov't education has proven to be unimaginative, boring, and flawed.

Also Dr. Paul will offer tax credits for those who want to home school their children or send them to private school, which IMO is the best way to be educated.

I've only spent 1 year of my life in a Gov't school and it was the most mind numbing experience of my life. American children need to learn HOW to think not WHAT to think.
 
the tax break is $5,000; elementary education is about $8,000-$10,000 a year, and high school education up to and exceding $40,000 a year for a similar education that you would get in a public school.

And without gov. help College would be atleast $40,000 a year
 
home and private schooling our entire youth is the worst idea i've heard in a long time.

the government can't afford giving full tax credit for that, and therefore only upper class citizens will be able to afford it which leaves an even weaker lower class, with no hope of bettering their lives.

a distinct benefit of public schooling is getting kids to get used to being mixed in with people they don't know or are different. that leaves an entire generation with distinct social issues and that is just not what our country needs. what we need to do is train better teachers for public schooling, not do away with it entirely.

and in order for children to know HOW to think, they need at least the fundamental basics of all parts of education: math, english, etc. if they are never taught WHAT to think, they will never be able to use that knowledge to think at all.
 
Who comprises a large percentage of the lower class? Illegal and new immigrants? The solution? Deportation. Ron Paul already agrees on No Amnesty and should take it a step further and deport all illegal immigrants. Then the jobs vacated by the illegal immigrants can be filled by the lower middle class Americans who won't be able to afford secondary education. BAM

do you know how much time, money, and energy is going to be wasted to track down illegals? how about instead we just do a better job at closing up the border, and if we find illegals we can sure as hell get them out of here, but hunting them down is a wild goose chase. and now i'm not saying anything like "rewarding the illegals who are already here", but instead of spending a lifetime trying to find them, just get them when we can.

and also, instead of leaving the lower class in the lower class, how about we try to give them the opportunity to succeed and excel? isn't that what the goal of this country is (or should be)? "sure they're poor, just give them the shitty jobs and no education they'll do fine". do you hear yourself?

Oh that reminds me affter Ron Paul privatizes everything farming will no longer be profitable (with out gov. subsidies farmers lose money) so we will have to pay for food to come in, (where we have no control over quality) Believe me Ron Paul would not be good for America.

And providing amnesty is one of the greatest things the US has going for it internationally.

what are his views on illegal immigrants. im sick of these pricks ilegally crossing our borders and claim that they believe in the rights and laws of the U.S while they have just ignored them by crossing the fine line between mexico and the U.S. and i am sick of the democrats that promise them amnesty and the same rights and an american citizien who is a loyal tax payer and patriot. If we let 6 million undocumented aliens become citiziens and say OK thats it no more...do they think it will stop the flow of ilegals? no it will increase it. Some in mexico who support illegal aliens in the U.S. suggested that mexico should have a trade embargo on teh U.S until we legalize the illegals here. when i heard this on cnn. i chuckled to myself. boo hoo fuckin hoo mexico isnt gonna trade with us anymore? : ( theyr forgetting that 85% of their exports come from the U.S.
 
No Amnesty, he supports building a 700 mile fence along the border. Also alot of the troops stationed in Iraq would be brought home and would be stationed on the border, further decreasing the chances of illegals crossing the border in the future
 
thats the other thing he wants to lower taxes but also wants to pay to build and maintain a secured border between Mexico and the US.

Sorry but the equation does not work out.

I rest my case because I was implying that he will never win the nomination, which was supported by the fact that a lot of people don't even know who he is. I could write volumes on why Ron Paul's ideas suck but a kid in a previous Ron Paul thread pretty much summed up how I feel about Ron Paul:

1. Although I oppose our grounds for beginning the Iraq war,

withdrawing now as the situation is beginning to improve would simply

mean that we've wasted billions of dollars and thousands of lives.

We've invested so much that it would be foolish to give up now when the

troop surge is clearly working.

2. I oppose his foreign policy on more than just his desire to

immediately bring the troops home. His isolationist policies call for

withdrawal from many international organizations and essentially

capitulate our political influence throughout the world.

3. Most economic data indicates that our FIAT money and the Federal

Reserve System are major contributers to our economics success of the

past 60 years. Inflation is an inevitable and necessary evil in such a

system and Ron Paul's desire to eradicate inflation and fractional

reserve banking through a return to commodity-based currency would only

stagnate the economy . This would reduce our capital, which is

necessary for economic growth.

this was not about if he will get the nomination or not, it is about if he would be a good president.

1. Who cares how he feels about the withdrawal, they would almost all be out (or all would be out) before he would even be in office. This does not matter. Next topic.

2. He has said over and over that he is Not an isolationist. He wants free trade through the world and would negotiate and make alliances etc with all that he can. We don't need to be influencing everyone anyway.

3. Our "economic success" is not lasting. Just look at this year. It's about to blow up, all the signs are there.

So go ahead and try to say it better yourself because this attempt sucked.
