Is it safe to stay in a pool for 24 hours straight? my friend got betted that he couldnt do it and he wants to try today but we dont know if its dangerous. i know its probably a shitty idea but he got betted 50 bucks.
 
he wont last 24hours in water below body temperature...i counter that bett with 50 NS rupies.....
 
who saw that david blain thing where he stayed in a big bowl of water for like a week, then tried to hold his breath for 9 minutes or something?

he skin was so waterlogged, it literally ripped when it was pulled on.
 
so we dont need to worry about the chemicals in the pool damaging your skin, and his skin wont like shed off after 24 hours right?
 
he'll be fine, just look at shipwreck survivors, they often survived more then a day in the cold salt ocean water, i just dont think he'll keep it up voluntarily.....
 
It could happen, cuz chlorine has acidic properties to it, like how it will bleach a black pair of shorts. Who knows maybe this is how michael jackson turned white?
 
The key word there being salt water ( i.e saline) without the salt content his skin will probably dehydrate pretty bad, plus he should make sure to move every once and a while so that blood doesn't pool in his limbs. other than that, he should be good
 
make sure he takes a massive dump before he starts. and hes going to have to pee in the pool. also, if i were him, id find a way to plastify my gameboy or something so id have something to do when i got super fucking bored haha
 
does he get food or drinks? and i hope whos ever pool it is they dont care if there is piss or shit in it lol
 
salt water has a higher osmotic value and will drain fluid through his skin faster then fresh water, i think you just meant the opposite of what you just said, but the idea was good....
thus to come back on my previous statement, he'll be just fine!

i hope someones watching him to make sure he doesnt fall asleep and drown

yea i'd keep watch over him. he should be alright if he just sits in the shallow end and moves around every now and then.

ha, and if he did it in the deep end, i bet he'd make it a little over an hour. I tried just jumping in fully clothed into the deep end of our pool, and was able to tread water for about 90 minutes. In a bathing suit it was about 2 hrs, and it gets really really tiring very quickly.
 
normally if you float on your back and inhale deeply your mouth should just be able to stay above water, so ne water treading needed in fact....
 
true, but that would be an uncomfortable position for 24 hrs. He'd have to watch his breathing and not move around too much
 
beats water treading imho, but hey, you can switch between those things...or you can give him a snorkel :D
