Half the movie doesn't actually contribute to the story, it lacks iconic moments, and any attempt a joke is just surface deep and lacks any creative depth. Discuss.
 
This is true. Also the animation and artwork is like a fever dream and Lowkey creeps the shit out of me. Maybe I’m a ?

That's because all the characters including the kids are played by Tom Hanks. One of the key reasons why this is the greatest movie of all time.
 
Its always been my least favorite movie I think it’s mainly due to the animation. If it was a live movie or a cartoon it might be good
 
Please elaborate on the "half of the movie that is irrelevant to the plot" cuz I can't think of any scene that doesn't contribute to the main character's development/experience

Hot chocolate, rollar coaster track, train on ice, heard of animals on track, etc. All just filler.

that movie is literally what all kids want: epic train, random shit happening for no reason but adds to the adventure, also the whole movie just has this ‘feeling’ idk what it is but op obviously doesn’t feel it
 
It seems like the polar express has a lot of parallels to religion in particular christianity (maybe I just see this because this is the lens I look through). Its definently is strange movie for sure since it's all a dream.

I'm guilty of doing this exact thing to a kid at school, now I have been working with the guy for almost a year. Never to his face did i say it at school(i didn't know his actually name at the time). Now i joke about it.
