Post the camera you use for your pics and what you like and dislike about it. Please, no P&S or Disposable camera posts cause it's just a waste of space.

I use an old Yashica FX-3 with a 50mm f/1.9, 28mm f/2.8 and a 80-200mm f/4.

Advantages - All metal body, all metal lenses, 'B' mode.

Disadvantages - No AF available, Manual rewind, Manual Loading, fastest shutter is 1/1000, manual advance (pull trigger).

Bottom Line[/b] - You can use this camera without any source of power but if you want to use the Exposure Check then you'll have to have a battery. Also... if you drop this camera, there's not too much that can really break unless it's dropped hard.

Rebel EOS Elan II

Advantages: I suck at photography, so I don't need a real good camera.

Disadvantages: It's my mom's camera. She won't pay for film. I need to buy skis. Christmas is still 4 1/2 months away, so I won't have a camera for a while.

Canon EOS Rebel 2000

Advantages: Cheap / Good Quality / Durable / Good light meter / DOF Preview / Dbl Exposure function / AV/TV Settings

Disadvantages: Not the best lens / Not the best AF / Not Digital!!!!

Bottom Line : Good camera at a great price..not just a ' starter camera ' but a quality machine that can get the job done very well...film and lenses matter more anyways.

I know its not miniDV but its very close to it. Vids are super clear when they get on the computer, depending on what software you use and encoder. Pics could be better though.

so obviously I was stoned.

never mind, I don't smoke. I'm just gay. ---- our very own...djxtreme

I had a fully-manual, 25-year-old Olympus body and 58 mm lense until it broke last winter.

And I'm going to California for 2 weeks tomorrow, and I'm so stoked because I finally get to use the camera, and I guess I'll sacrifice some of my ski money for good film, and lots of it, because there will be sooo much to shoot out there. I'm soo stoked. But I'll have to wait until I go back to school to scan them.

Nikon D70 with nikkor 18-70 mm 3.5-4.5 AF lens

D70 with the kit lens (18-70/3.5-4.5) and an SB-800 flashgun. Sigma 10-20mm this summer once it's released and a resonable tele zoom in time for next winter.

I currently have two cameras.

A) Pentax K-1000

-Advantages: Well, I really don't know yet. I have to get it cleaned and buy a new lens for it. I recently found it in my attic. Steve told me it is the manual SLR camera. Note to self--get it cleaned.

B) Fuji Finepix S5100

-Advantages: Just got into photography, so i decided to go with this camera. It has 4 megapixels and a 10x optical zoom. Nice shooting modes. It has a nice video taking feature also.

-Disadvantages: I wish I had the money to buy a 20D and a 24-70mm f/2.8L USM. This camera has a fixed lens and the photo quality lacks somtimes. Continuous shooting mode is slow. It works for me, though.

Canon AV-2 with 28mm, 50mm and 70-150mm lenses.

Advantages:

Weight, size.

Exposure meter.

Lenses.

Disadvantages:

Sometimes shutter freezes open in cold air, which is more than annoying.

Flash sync not always working.

Not a real slr, imo, not possible to adjust shutter speed manually..

I have to get a D-SLR, maybe some day I do have some money and a camera of my own..

Now that's a photography rig!

Me?

Canon Digital Rebel (looking to buy a grip for it)

Lenses: (all Canon)

EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-4.5

28-105 f/3.5-4.5 II USM (based on steve's reccomendation! =P)

50 f/1.8

100-300 f/5.6

And there's a new (used) lens on the way! :

28-70 f/2.8 L

Then there's my trusty manual Vivitar V2000 + 28-210 for when I'm itching for film.
